Shabat Shalom The Fourth Quarter!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message has been sponsored by the Shasho family, L'Zecher Nishmat R' Egal Ben Zakiah. His Neshama should have an Aliyah. Zechuto Yagen Aleinu AMEN! His Neshama should be Melitz Yosher for his family and all of Klal Yisrael AMEN!

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Yisrael Ben R' Levi Yitzchak M'Berditchev, R' Uri "Seraph" Ben R' Pinchas, R' Meir Yehudah Getz, and R' Yitzchak Menachem Mendel Danzinger HY"D Ben R' Shmuel Tzvi(The Alexander Rebbe). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the freeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Zechut for the saving of Vered Rivka Bat Esther's Neshama. AMEN! And a Zechut for the Refua Shelaima of Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Chaim David Ben Leah, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Clara Bat Victoria Chaya, Yaakov Ben Mazal, Yitzchak Ben Refael, Refael Eliezer Ben Rinah Raizel and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to have all their needs for Shabat B'Shefa AMEN!

"See -- I have placed before you today the life and the good, and the death and the evil...and you shall choose life."(Nitzavim, 30:15,19)
Rabbi Moshe Feinstein ztl asks: Why did Moshe Rabeinu stress that he was placing these choices before the people today? Perhaps this word's message is that each and every day of our lives, the same choices Moshe described stand before us to be confronted anew.
Certainly someone whose behavior has been improper until now is obligated to choose the path of good for the future. But even someone who has already chosen that path and remained firmly on it may not rely on his past performance to guarantee that he will continue to do good, and must make his choice afresh today and every day, because every day the path of evil and death also stands before him. Every day, therefore he must once again consciously choose the good.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Nitzavim, Derush Alef)
With a strong finish, a person can win the game. Imagine a basketball team who starts off badly, but in the fourth quarter they up their playing and score enough points to win the game, it doesn't matter anymore how they stated, the won the game! Our fourth quarter is here, we are a week from the Yom HaDin, we can change everything, with this one week. Chazal tell us that a person can fix every Shabat with the last Shabat of the year and the same with every day of the week. Life and good, death and evil are in front of us and its our job now to make the decision and choose life! Let us all make this the most amazing Shabat, which will pour into the rest of the week, and with this week we will fix the entire year, and walk into Rosh HaShanah holding an amazing year in our hands. This will cause Hashem to want to give another amazing year, because when He sees we do good with what He gives us, he wants to give us more! May we all merit to have an amazing Shabat and week! AMEN! Shabat Shalom Gmar Chativa V'Chatima Tova! May we all merit to be written in the book of amazing life packed with Osher VOsher Shefa Bracha UParnasa Tova VHatzlacha Rabbah Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

Shabat Shalom Experience The Transcendental!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Yitzchak Hakohen Shapiro, R' Avraham Avigdor Nachum Ben R' Yaakov Yitzchak Dan Landau, and R' Yechi Shnior(Talmid of the Baba Sali). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the feeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Zechut for the saving of Vered Rivka Bat Esther's Neshama AMEN! And a Zechut for the Refua Shelaima of Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Chaim David Ben Leah, Mishael Ben Leah, Yitzchak Ben Refael, Clara Bat Victoria Chaya, Yaakov Ben Mazal, and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel AMEN! And a Zechut for Esther Miriam Bat Mazal, Sarah Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Perel Devorah Bat Yochevet, Dinah Bat Sheina Beila, Rosa Bat Chasiba, Devorah Chana Bat Dalia and Malka Bat Chava to find their Zivugim Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

Western ideology tells us to live for pleasure: "If it feels good, do it!" Indeed today more than ever, everything is permissible, and available in excess. But are people significantly happier now than they were years ago? It seems that what is available in the marketplace is obviously not enough to give people real fulfillment.
Look around. See how many members of society seek escape. How many thousands of successful, talented people regularly lose themselves in drugs, alcohol, entertainment, sports, and that multitude of illusions designed to distract them from the reality of life. Calculate the exorbitant amounts of time and money spent in this country, in pursuit of illusory pleasures: a bigger car, a more exciting vacation, a fancier house. But nothing satisfies the craving for lasting, meaningful pleasure.
Final Exit, a book on how to commit suicide in the comfort of your own home, appeared on the New York Times Best-Seller List - a clear indication of how many people are not receiving the type of pleasure that makes the effort of living worthwhile.
To be fulfilled, a human being needs higher, more sublime pleasures than the experiences a physical world can provide. After all the money has been made, all the food tasted, and all the honor and power achieved, there is still something missing, something which makes all other pleasures fade in comparison.
It's called the transcendental. The experience of a Presence infinitely greater than ourselves. An awareness of the reality and awesomeness of Hashem.
Occasionally, people get a glimmer. Perhaps they catch a sunset that takes their breath away with its splendor. Or witness the wondrous miracle of birth.
That sensation, that experience of awe, is the feeling they get when their Neshama senses its Creator. In their inner core, they know they have been in touch with something far grander than their five senses can grasp.
Ultimately, lasting pleasure of this kind is found only by tapping into the spiritual experiences of Kedusha and Ruchniut. These experiences are what make life continuously refreshing and energizing for the Jew. Through Torah and Mitzvot, the Jew connects with the Ratzon Hashem and touches the transcendental on a daily basis, forging within himself a deeper and deeper connection to the Source. The Jew was created to receive this elevated pleasure. Without it, he will always be left wanting.
Consider how routine and flat your weeks would become if, for example you didn't have Shabat, the day set aside for the Jew to refine his appreciation of Hashem's Presence in the world. One day would run into the next and never leave you the time to break out of life's mundane routine and experience the transcendental.
People who have no Shabat, or any similar experience of Kedusha, feel an emptiness in their lives -- despite being "free" to partake in all the pleasures the world offers. Since the Western world has only a superficial understanding of pleasure, its merchandise cannot satisfy on a deep level. People who invest more and more into the physical world will ultimately become less and less fulfilled.(The Eye of the Needle, R' Noach Weinberg ztl)
Shabat is one of the greatest pleasures that Hashem gave us, and a pleasure is meant to be enjoyed. Many people view Shabat, like the non-Jews view Sunday; a rest day. This is truly sad. Imagine someone who owned a beautiful expensive watch, and instead of wearing and using it to tell time, he used it as a paper weight. Shabat is a pleasure that is meant to be enjoyed, and an enjoyment that nothing else on this world can provide. Instead of wasting it, lets spend it singing Zemirot, learning Torah, and inspiring Hashem's children. Then we will understand what real enjoyment feels like. Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Avraham's Children!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat Dan Ben Yaakov Avinu(Also Birthday), Rabeinu Tzadok Ben R' Yaakov Hakohen Rabinowitz of Lublin(Author of Pri Tzaddik and Tzidkat HaTzaddik), R' Nachum Mordechai Ben R' Alter Yisrael Shimon Perlow of Novominsk, and R' Yonatan Shteif. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu AMEN! And a Zechut for the freeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Zechut for the saving of Vered Rivka Bat Esther's Neshama AMEN! And a Zechut for the Refua Shelaima of Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Chaim David Ben Leah, Clara Bat Victoria Chaya, Yaakov Ben Mazal, Mishael Ben Leah, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel AMEN! And a Zechut for Yonatan Ben Miryam, Erez Ben Mona, Daniel Yoel Ben Chana, Eliyahu Tzvi Ben Rachel, Eliyahu Yehudah Ben Feiga Rachel and Yechezkel Chaim Ben Miriam to find their Zivugim Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

"Because of the fact that they did not greet you with bread and water...and because he hired against you Bilam son of Be'or to curse you.(Ki Setzei 23:5)
In Parashat Balak we learned that it was the Moabites who commissioned Bilam to curse the Jews, not the Ammorites. We must say, then, that the Ammorites were included in the punishment of eternal exclusion from marriage with Jewish women because their hatred for Jews was just as great as that of the Moabites. Although it was the Moabites who hired Bilam, the Ammorites showed their hatred was equally great by failing to greet the Jews with provisions. We may therefore assume that they would have also been willing to engage Bilam to curse the Jews had the opportunity presented itself to them.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Ki Setzei, Derush Daled)
We see from here the Torah's view on Chessed. It is not just a nice thing to do, but the definition of a Jew. We are all children of Avraham Avinu, and he instilled in us this Midah. The Kitzur Shulchan Aruch goes as far to say that if a person is not generous and giving, we should question his lineage.
A person eats and drinks no matter what, because these are necessities for living. Well Chessed is a necessity for Jewish living. Lets not only invite people to our house, when its one hundred percent comfortable and convenient for us. When we hear that another Jew does not have a place for Shabat, the automatic response must be, "he can come to us", and then, only after saying that, we can figure out how to fit him at the table. May we all make our forefather and Father proud this Shabat AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Against Nature!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Yitzchak Bar Sheshet(The Rivash), R' Eliezer Hager(The Damesek Eliezer), R' Avraham Yaakov of Boyan-Levov and R' Shmuel David Walkin Ben R' Aharon. Thier Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the freeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Zechut for the saving of Vered Rivka Bat Esther's Neshama AMEN! And a Zechut for the Refua Shelaima of Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Chaim David Ben Leah, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Yitzchak Ben Refael, Yaakov Ben Mazal, Clara Bat Victoria Chaya and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel AMEN! And a Zechut for every Jew to have a place to eat for Shabat AMEN!

Directly after the injunctions of the judges, the Torah forbids us to plant an Asheirah, a tree used for the purpose of Avodah Zara, or any other tree, next to the Altar on the Temple Mount.(Devarim 16:21) Reish Lakish explains the connection: appointing the wrong judges to serve in a judicial system is tantamount to planting a tree for the purpose of Avodah Zara.(Gemara Sanhedrin 17b)
The Asheirah tree represents the totality of the forces of nature; all the elements of nature come together in the development of a tree. Thus the worship of nature in general is expressed through a tree's growth.
Nature possesses no built-in system of justice. In nature, the law of survival of the fittest prevails, and the weakest disappear as a matter of course. This system is the polar opposite of Tzedek, justice, whose entire purpose is to override the law of nature and to ensure that weak people are judged on the same level as stronger people and they receive their full rights.
The worship of an Asheirah, then, is a direct contradiction, symbolically, to the appointment of proper judges. One who worships the forces of nature identifies with the law of nature, which recognizes the superiority of the strongest. Establishing a system of justice based on improper judges is in effect applying the laws of nature to human beings, when the very purpose of Tzedek is to supersede the laws of nature. Planting the wrong judge is thus equivalent of planting an Asheirah.(Sefer Ner Uziel, Parashat Shoftim, Derush Hey, R' Milevsky)
Chazal tell us that Shabat is above nature, all a person's livelihood is determined on Rosh HaShanah, besides that which is spent on Shabat. Hashem provides a person with his needs for Shabat. It is our job to follow suit on Shabat and act against the laws of nature, and take care of the weak. We must invite people who need a place for Shabat, this includes anything from orphans, widows, poor people to singles. We must take care of people who many times cannot take care of themselves.
Avodah Zara(Nature) is one of the three top sins, which a person should die before committing. Can you imagine how big the Mitzvah is, for inviting someone who has no where to go! By going against nature, Hashem will go against the nature of the world, and shower us with Bracha, Hatzlacha, Zivugim, and much Parnasa AMEN! Shabat Shalom V'Chodesh Tov!

Shabat Shalom Respect!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Moshe Hager of Antiniya, and R' Yeshayahu Menachem Ben R' Yitzchak of Cracow. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the freeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Zechut for the saving of Vered Rivka Bat Esther's Neshama AMEN! And a Zechut for the Refua Shelaima of Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Chaim David Ben Leah, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Yitzchak Ben Refael, Clara Bat Victoria Chaya, Yaakov Ben Mazal and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittle AMEN!

"You shall not do this to Hashem, your G-d"(Re'eh 12:4)
Rashi Hakadosh citing R' Yishmael (The Sifri) questions the need for this prohibition. Is the scenario of Jews destroying their own altars one that might really occur? Instead, says R' Yishmael, the Torah must mean that we should not behave in the fashion of the idolaters committing sins like theirs that will bring Hashem to destroy the Sanctuary.
Rav Moshe Feinstein ztl says that one might think that the sins that cause such terrible destruction would be the most serious sins, such as Avodah Zara, Gilui Arayot, and Shevichut Damim(Idolarty, illicit relations and murder), yet the Torah never suspected the Jewish people of committing the sin of destroying the Altar of the Beit Hamikdash. It is, however, unimaginable that a Jew would demolish an Altar, since that would not only prevent others from bringing Korbanot, it would totally deny the existence of any sanctity in the world. Rather the destruction related here refers to an undermining of one's sense of sanctity regarding the Altar.
Thus Chazal related (Gemara Sukkah 56b) that the entire priestly family of Bilgah was penalized because Bilgah's daughter had entered the Beit Hamikdash and spoken degratingly about the Altar. Even though she became an apostate, a much greater sin, her family was punished not for that but for the disrespect she showed the Altar, an act which reflected the inadequacy of her upbringing and which therefore rendered the entire family liable to punishment.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Re'eh, Derush Hey)
Having a lack of respect for something great, is viewed by Hashem as a grave sin. There are two things today that we must work on having respect for; Shabat and Shul. Shabat is not just another day, and Shul is not just another place. And it is in our hands, how much our children will respect these two things. If we sit at the table on Shabat and speak of politics, sports and other stupidities why would they think that Shabat is any different? We must show them that Shabat is an amazing gift from Hashem, a day free of all the distractions, a day we can truly dedicate to Hashem and His Torah.
And the way we act in Shul will be the way our kids will in the future. If they see us have respect for the Shul, by not talking or fooling around. Then they will follow in our footsteps.
Let our children see the amazing gifts Hashem bestowed upon us. A day which is the source of all Brachot, and a place to come and speak one on One with the King of Kings! May we all merit to show the proper respect to the Holy day of Shabat, and our Holy Shuls, and then we will see Bracha overflow into the week, and in the future in our children. AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom The One That Makes It Happen!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Moshe Bernstein(Rosh Yeshivat Kamenitz), and R' Shlomo Chanoch Ben R' Yechezkel Rabinowitz(Last Radomsky Rebbe), Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the freeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Zechut for the saving of Vered Rikva Bat Esther's Neshama AMEN! And a Zechut for the Refua Shelaima of Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Chaim David Ben Leah, Yitzchak Ben Refael, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Clara Bat Victoria Chaya, Yaakov Ben Mazal, and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel AMEN! And a Zechut for every Jew to have clarity in his Torah learning AMEN!

"And you may say in your heart, "My strength and the might of my hand made me all this wealth!" Then you shall remember Hashem, your G-d; that it was He Who gave you strength to make wealth, in order to establish His covenant that He swore to your forefathers, as this day."(Eikev 8:17-18)
Chazal compare the attitudes towards Divine assistance of four kings. David HaMelech said: "I will pursue my foes and overtake them"(Tehillim 18:38) Hashem said to him: "I will let you do so," as it is written: 'And David smote them from twilight to evening of the next day.'(Shmuel I 30:17)
Asa HaMelech arose and said: "I have no strength to slay my enemies, but I will pursue them, and You defeat them for me." Said Hashem, "I will do so." as it is written, "And Asa and the people who were with him pursued them...for they were destroyed before Hashem."(Divrei Hayamim II 14:12) The Torah does not say "before Asa" but rather "before Hashem".
Yehoshavat arose and said, "I have no strength either to pursue nor to slay, but I will recite a song of praise and You pursue them." Hashem said to him "I will do so" as it is written: "At the time they commenced to sing the song and the praise, Hashem placed ambushers."(Divrei Hayamim 20:22)
Hezekiah arose and said, "I have strength neither to slay nor to pursue nor even to recite a song, but I will sleep on my bed and You do everything." Hashem said to him, "I will do so" as it is written "And an angel of Hashem went out and smote in the camp of Assyria"(Melachim II 19:35)[Yalkut Shemoni 163 on Shmuel II 22:38)
We learn from this account that whatever we do, we must be aware that we need Hashem to grant us success, and our efforts are required solely because our merit is not sufficient to deserve success without them. In this vein, R' Shimon Ben Elazar said, "In all my days, I never saw a deer who had to dry figs (who had to work for his food), but I did wrong and therefore am forced to work for my livelihood."(Gemara Kiddushin 82b)
In our Pasuk, the Torah is condemning the attitude that one's own efforts and talents make him wealthy, and that one's might gives him success in war...(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Eikev, Derush Hey)
Chazal tell us that out of all these four kings, David HaMelech is the one, who had the most Bitachon in Hashem, because even when he swung his sword, he knew that Hashem was the One doing it. No matter what we do in life, we must realize that Hashem is in charge, and no matter how much or how little effort we put in, in the end of the day Hashem is the one that makes it happen. It is important on Shabat to read Sefarim that deal with Bitachon in Hashem (i.e. Chovot Halevavot or others), so that when we work during the following week, we will realize that its not us who make the deals but Hashem. May this Shabat bring us one step closer to realizing that there is only One in charge! Shabat Shalom and thank You Hashem for taking care of us.

Shabat Shalom Safeguarding!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message has been sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Nisanov, in honor of all of Klal Yisrael to be Zoche to see the building of the third and final Beit Hamikdash Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN! Hashem should bless them with constant success, health, wealth, happiness and to be Zoche to see all their children grow up, get married, have children and live Torah lives AMEN!

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Hillel Ben R' Meir Halevi of Paritch, R' Yitzchak Blazer(Author of Pri Yitzchak,  and Kochvei Ohr), and R' Aharon Perlow(The Slonimer-Warsaw Rebbe). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu AMEN! And a Zechut for the freeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Zechut for the saving of Vered Rivka Bat Esther's Neshama AMEN! And a Zechut for the Refua Shelaima of Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Yitzchak Ben Refael, Chaim David Ben Leah, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel AMEN! And a Zechut for Esther Miriam Bat Mazal, Dinah Bat Sheina Beila, Perel Devorah Bat Yochevet, Rosa Bat Chasiba, Raquel Bat Sara, Leah Kafira Bat Sara, Sara Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Devorah Chana Bat Dalia, and Simcha Bat Devorah to find their Zivugim Bekarov Bechinam with much Hatzlacha and Bracha AMEN!

"You shall safeguard and perform them"(4:6)
Rashi Hakadosh explains that the word Ushemartem, you shall safeguard, in this Pasuk refers to studying Torah, and if so, we must understanding why Moshe Rabeinu chose to describe Torah study as "safeguarding".
We can say, therefore, that he meant to teach us that although one may sincerely want to observe Hashem's Mitzvot as he understands them and may wish to emulate others who observe them properly, unless one studies under a qualified teacher, he will almost inevitably err in his judgment of what is right and wrong.
A prime example of the dangers of not studying Torah in the proper fashion is the case of Enosh and his contemporaries. Their fundamental mistake was that they relied on their own judgment rather than seeking the guidance of Adam and Seth, the repositories of Torah in their time.
Thus Moshe Rabeinu referred to Torah as "safeguarding" to teach us that only proper Torah study can ensure that we perform the Mitzvot in the way Hashem intended us to.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Ve'etchanan, Derush Daled)
We live in an "instant" generation. Everything must be short, sweet and to the point. We drink "instant" coffee, eat "instant" soup and use "instant" messaging. Along with all of these, many of us receive "instant" Halacha, short Dvar Halachas. While these are great, and help people learn on the go, there is a downside. When Halachic questions come up, we must realize that we cannot rely on such sources to answer them, but we must go to a Rabbi, who learns and understands Halacha and can tell us what the Halacha is in our situation.
And we must instill the importance of this into our children. One way of doing this, is to make sure if a Halachic question comes up, our children see us going to ask the Rabbi. When they see this, they will understand that if they have a question of what to do, you go to the Rabbi. May we all merit to keep the Torah correctly, the way Hashem intended. AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Divine Advice!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Nachman Ben R' Meir Bulman, and R' Yechezkel Shraga of Shinev. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the freeing of Gilad Ben Aviva AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Yitzchak Ben Refael, Chaim David Ben Leah, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Clara Bat Victoria Chaya, Yaakov Ben Mazal, and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel AMEN!    "Let them be wives to whomever is good in their eyes, but only to the family of their father shall they become wives."(Masei 36:6)
The Gemara in Baba Batra (102b) tells us that Zelophehad's daughters themselves were permitted to marry outside their tribe, but it was recommended that they too should marry within their tribe. As we see, they followed the advice of the Torah. Now, although Hakadosh Baruch Hu, knew very well that they would marry within their tribe even though they were not commanded to do so, He should still have commanded them to do so, because one who is commanded and observes the Mitzvah (Metzuveh V'Oseh) is superior to one who is not commanded and still performs the Mitzvah.
It must be then, that even without formal Divine imperative, one who ignores Divine advice has committed a grave transgression, because he demonstrates with his behavior that he believes himself to be wiser than Hashem, which is of course apostasy. The Yetzer Hara will thus surely seek to sway man to disregard Divine counsel, just as it seeks to entice one who is commanded to do a Mitzvah. Indeed, the chief distinction of the Metzuveh V'Osheh is that he must overcome his Yetzer Hara. In the case of Divine counsel, the Yetzer Hara will have even more power to sway him by arguing that the Divine advice is not actually mandatory. Therefore, in this case, the daughters of Zelophehad actually received a greater reward because they were not commanded to marry within their tribe, only advised.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Masei, Derush Daled)
Shabat has many mandatory laws, and if a person keeps these laws then he has fulfilled his mandatory obligation of Shabat. Chazal have given us advice, on what to do to beautify it and enjoy it. While most of this is not mandatory, they felt it important to advise us of these things. They told us to try to make sure that we put things aside special for Shabat, always trying to find the best for the Holy Day. Now if a person would buy all his needs for Shabat on Friday, have wine and Challah he would fulfil his obligation. But were he to take Chazal's advice and constantly search for more delicious foods, to honor the Shabat. Then he will he receive an even greater reward, because he didn't listen to his Yetzer Hara, who told him, but its not mandatory so what's the point? He took the Divine counsel and uplifted his Shabat to a higher level. May we all take Chazal's advice and have a beautiful uplifting tasty Shabat AMEN! Shabat Shalom

Hacham Ben-Zion Abba Shaul was very careful not to waste a moment of precious Torah study time. One morning, on his way to Yeshivat Porat Yosef, he saw a student examining a billboard poster. Hacham Ben-Zion cried out "Help! Help!" and continued on his way. The student ran after him and breathlessly asked, "What happened? Who needs help?"
"The entire world," Hacham Ben-Zion replied. "If you don't study Torah, the world will be destroyed. If you were an ambulance driver or a paramedic, and were summoned to save a life, would you stop to read the latest announcements? As a Ben Torah, your job is far more essential, because the world is maintained only in the Zechut of Torah study."(A Legacy of Leaders, Hacham Ben-Zion Abba Shaul)
Rav Shimshon David Pincus ztl explains that Shabat is the day of Hashem, and on this day we must do that which is most pleasurable for Hashem, which is our learning Torah. Someone once approached Rav Pincus and asked him if it was okay to read a magazine on Shabat? He told the person on a Halachic basis, he would have to go to his Rabbi and ask which view he followed. But he said on the Hashkafa side, I will answer you with a parable. Imagine a mother who slaves all of Friday, baking challah, cooking fish and meat, preparing the table etc. When the Friday night meal comes, instead of complimenting her on all of her work, and commenting on how amazing it looks and tastes, you sit at the table and read a magazine. Most of us would say that is extremely rude. The same applies to Shabat.
Shabat is totally Hashem's time. Chazal tell us that all of a person's money is determined on Rosh Hashanah, except that which he spends on Shabat. Rav Pincus explains this too, with a parable. He said imagine Baron Rothschild came to a woman, and said my daughter is getting married, and I want you to cater the wedding. So this woman turns to the Baron and answers, "Baron I am truly honored by your offer, but I would need a lot of supplies to cater such a wedding and I can't afford that." The Baron tells her, "Do you really think I will not provide you with everything that you need? I will give you the money you need to buy all the supplies." Rav Shimshon says the same applies to Shabat. Shabat is Hashem's day, and He tells us that He will take care of everything.
But it is our job to make our Shabat, a day of Hashem. We must do what makes Hashem happy, which is Torah. And as an added bonus, Hashem tells us that every word of Torah that we learn on Shabat is times one thousand! Just like at a wedding the moments the Chatan and Kalah have alone together are so precious to them. The moments we spend learning Torah on Shabat are our alone time with Hashem! And we must realize that by learning Torah we are keeping up the world that Hashem created. So let us not waste a moment, but instead spend Shabat learning Hashem's Torah, which will show Hashem how much we appreciate all that He does for us, and will help to maintain the world He has given us. Shabat Shalom!

"Behold! the people will arise like a lion cub..."(23:24)
Rashi Hakadosh comments: They strengthen themselves like a lion cub and a lion to seize the Mitzvot. We see from here that a Mitzvah which is "grabbed" because one is afraid to delay is more meritorious than another Mitzvah. One would think that if one is on the road and a Mitzvah comes his way, which could be done immediately, or performed at home in a more deliberate manner, that it would be preferable to wait until one is able to do it in an unhurried manner. The Torah teaches us here that the Mitzvah performed by "grabbing" is superior because one's actions demonstrate one's conscientiousness and one's concern that; perhaps an unforeseeable accident will occur, which will prevent him from performing the Mitzvah. The attitude evinced by such behavior is superior to all other ways one can enhance the performance of a Mitzvah.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Balak, Derush Gimmel)
During the week, most of us, are very busy and when we see someone we know, we usually just nod and say a quick hello. On the other hand, on Shabat, we usually are more relaxed and spend time speaking with our friends and neighbors. Each time we see them is an opportunity to "grab" a Mitzvah. When we see them we can take two minutes and share with them a Torah insight, or an inspirational story. Firstly, by doing this you will be fulfilling the greatest Mitzvah; Talmud Torah, while fighting your Yetzer Hara, who will tell you, that learning is only for the Beit Midrash. Secondly, you can truly change a person's situation at home by doing this, it could be that before you came along, he had nothing to share at the Shabat table, and because of you he will not be embarrassed in front of his wife and children. And if you share with him an inspirational story, it can put him in a better mood which will seriously help his Shalom Bayit. How can we not grab such opportunities?!? May we all merit to grab all the amazing opportunities that Hashem puts before us AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Connecting To The Chain!

To All Jews:

"For the entire congregation -- all of them -- are holy"(16:13)
Rav Moshe Feinstein ztl says that Korach's argument, the entire congregation -- all of them -- are holy, and why do you exalt yourself over the congregation of Hashem, is the basic argument of those who reject the Torah leaders and think that they know the Torah as well as the Gedolim, and they do not need a teacher or a leader. Without the tradition from one of the great men of the generation, one can easily err, just as Korach erred in the Halachot of Tzizit and Mezuzah, and just like the apostasy of Eleazar Ben Po'irah, who maintained that the Sefer Torah is lying in the corner, and whoever wishes to learn may come to learn.(Gemara Kiddushin 66a) The Fallacy of this assertion is not only regarding the Written Torah, as the Tzaddukees  maintained, when they denied the authenticity of the Oral Torah. One who believes that the Talmud and all the Sefarim in the world would be lying "in a corner" and that anyone can learn from without the direction and guidance of Torah authorities, is an apostate.
As in manifest, all kinds of apostates find support for their erroneous views in some Rabbinic maxim. This is because they misunderstand the meaning of the Rabbis. Even the generation of the Midbar, upon whom the Shechinah rested, for they had heard the first two Dibrot of the Decalogue, still required Moshe and Aharon and all the Chachamim of the generation.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Korach, Derush Bet)
The Mishnah in Pirke Avot says, "Aseh Lecha Rav"(1:6). Rav Meyer Yedid says that if a person wants any chance of being successful he must "make" for himself a Rabbi. Having a Rabbi links a person to the Mesorah, the tradition. Without a Rabbi, a person is not connected. The advice a Rabbi gives is not just another opinion, it's based on Torah, and is the word of Hashem. When a person has a Rabbi, he knows that he has someone in his life, to make sure he goes in the ways of the Torah. We are all human, and many times we have questions, with a Rabbi, it gives us someone to consult and make sure we make the right decisions. When a person doesn't have a Rabbi to consult he makes decisions that many times are very far from the Torah way, which could lead to serious trouble.
Throughout history, every time the Jews decided not to go in the ways of Torah, and listen to the Rabbis, tragedy struck. After several times of sticking his hand in a fire, a child comes to realize that its not a good idea. It is time for us to realize that the only way we will be successful is if we listen to our Rabbis, and not make the same mistakes again.
If you do not have a Rabbi yet, its time, this Shabat walk over to someone who you respect, who is a religious Orthodox Rabbi, and start to build a connection with him. By doing this you will have linked yourself into a chain that dates back to Har Sinai. Shabat Shalom!

   "Caleb silenced..."(13:30)
It is clear that Hashem deemed this a great deed, as it is written: "By My servant Caleb, because a different spirit was with him..."(14:24), and he received a great reward for his action. Now one would have thought that this deed was really not so noteworthy because ultimately he accomplished nothing by opposing the other spies. Although his intention was excellent, he still should not have received that great a reward for an action which ultimately was of no avail. We can learn from this that a person must always act in defense of the honor of Heaven even if his deed will perhaps not accomplish that which he intended. Perhaps, by his act, a few individuals will be inspired to do Teshuvah and that suffices.
Perhaps, though, Caleb's words did help. The problem was that after he spoke, the spies resumed their slander against the Holy Land and reinforced it, and after Caleb's words they renewed their attack. Even though they had made their position clear before Caleb spoke, yet after his statement had counteracted their previous attack, they stated that they could not overpower the people living in Canaan. Through Caleb's strategy, their earlier statements were nullified, and they had to renew them in order to entice the people to believe what they had reported. Thus, Caleb's words did help, albeit temporarily, for that Teshuvah was shortlived. We learn from here that just as Halacha rules that we must save a person's life even if he will live only a short time, and we must desecrate Shabat in order to save him, so it is with one's spiritual life. Although a person can influence others to do Teshuvah and abandon their evil deeds only for a short time, it is nevertheless a great accomplishment.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Shelach Lecha, Derush Bet)
Shabat is a great time for Kiruv. Hashem gives us the opportunity to invite people who have yet to come back, to our Shabat tables, to enjoy a beautiful meal with warmth and love. Some of us think to ourselves, "What's the point, no matter how hard I try, he will still be Mechalel Shabat". We have to know that this is the wrong way of thinking. Even if he is not Mechalel Shabat for five minutes because of you, its a great accomplishment. Know usually the results are much greater, but not always do we see them. We must do, whatever it is in our power to help bring all of Hashem's children back, no matter what our success rates are. May Hashem bless us all with an amazing Kiruv Shabat AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Ridding Ourselves of Hate!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' David Menachem Munish Babad, R' Shlomo Shapira(The Shem Shlomo), R' Shimon Sofer(The Hitorerut Teshuvah) and R' Moshe Ben R' Shimon Sofer. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, Yael Bat Tzipora Miriam Rasha, Chana Bat Miriam, Penina Bat Liat, and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel. AMEN! And a Zechut for every Jew to have a good honest caring friend AMEN!

When the day of Shabat arrives, we are given the gift of free time to think. Which most of us do not have during the week. The Yetzer Hara would love to get you to spend this time thinking about how angry we are because someone wronged us this week, which will lead to you speaking Lashon Hara.
Instead, we should ask ourselves. Did I hate someone this week? Did the way a certain person act greatly irritate or anger me? The Gaon M'Vilna explains how we should respond if one of these did happen. He tells us that since all that happens to us is by Heavenly decree, it would be hating in vain if we despised a person who had offended us. He was only Hashem's messenger. Therefore, hating that person is, in reality, a form of hating Hashem.
We must turn that hatred into love, and think about the positive attributes of the person we hate. The next time that we see that individual that we hate, we should try to be his best friend. Try at first to say come kind words to him. At first we will have to be acting, but after awhile, by acting as if we like him, we will truly come to like him and, thereby, conquer our Middah of hatred.(GTGTALH, R' Greiper, Based on the teachings of R' Avigdor Miller)
Torah has healing powers. One of the ways we should try to become friends with the person who we now hate, is by offering to learn with him. The connection people build by learning Torah together is like no other. It could start by walking over to the person we hate, and sharing with him a Torah insight, which could brake the ice. Slowly, Shabat after Shabat we will start to build a connection with him, and eventually we might even start a weekly Shabat Chavruta.
Let us dedicate this Shabat, to being the beginning of the Geula! Each one of us picking a person who we are not that fond of, and taking the first step in repairing that relationship. Through repairing our relationship with other people, we will in turn be fixing and strengthening our relationship with Hashem. And soon we will again accept the Torah K'Ish Echad B'Lev Echad, given to us by Mashiach Tzidkainu Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Hearing The Voice!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message has been sponsored by Yehudah Ben Chaviva Hakohen for the Refua Shelaima of Menachem Mendel Ben Gela. Hashem should send him a speedy recovery Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat Rabeinu Chayim of Volozhin(Author of the Nefesh Hachayim and Ruach Chayim), R' Moshe Horowitz, R' Nissim Yagen, and R' Elazar Menachem Mendel Biderman(The Lelover Rebbe).    "Vayishmah Et HaKol" -- "He heard the voice"(7:89)
Rashi Hakadosh explains: "I would think that the voice was low, therefore the Torah says, Et HaKol, the voice, the voice with which He spoke to him at Sinai; when it reached the entrance, it was interrupted." Now, why did Hashem speak in such a loud voice if in any case it had to be interrupted?
Rav Moshe Feinstein ztl explains that it seems that this phenomenon took place because if a righteous and pious man, who engages diligently in Torah learning, wishes to hear Hashem's voice, he can hear it. Although it would appear that we cannot hear it today, that is not so. Indeed, the voice that was heard at Sinai was a great voice, which did not cease(Shemot 19:19) Even today, it can be heard, by those who internalize the Torah and its Mitzvot, for with our limited intellect alone it would not be possible to comprehend the profound voice of Hashem found in the words of the Torah.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Naso)
During the week we have many "loud" distractions that block our hearing the voice of Hashem. On Shabat, all these distractions are shut off. No more cellphones, Internet, or tv. Shabat is the time where we have to focus our hearing, to hear the words of Hashem. Its a day where we should be totally engrossed in Torah. May we all merit to hear the voice of Hashem this Shabat, and truly be free of all worldly distractions AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

At the conclusion of a Brit Milah, there is a special Tefillah for the father to recite: "Send through Your holy angels a holy and pure Neshama to my son who has now been circumcised for the sake of Your great Name. May his heart be as open to Your holy Torah as the Ulam(the entrance of the Beit Hamikdash) to learn and to teach, to observe and to preform..."
This mention of the Ulam, the great 20 Amot (cubit)-wide entranceway to the Beit Hamikdash is not simply a poetic expression. The Gemara in Eruvin (53a) says it is a reference to the great Rabbi Akova and the other towering scholars of the Jewish people. How can there be a standard text of a Tefillah to be recited by every father after his son's Brit expressing the wish and aspiration that the newly circumcised boy grow up to be a Talmid Chacham of the stature of Rabbi Akova? The answer must be that this Tefillah gives us an insight into what is expected of a Jewish father -- to raise children to the highest level of Torah knowledge and Avodat Hashem and not to spare any effort or expense to do so. To reach the levels of Rabbi Akiva is virtually impossible, but one must at least have the desire to try. If the father aspires to develop the capabilities of his son to its fullest, he can hope for Ziata Dishmaya and Matanat Elokai, Heavenly gift for the son to fulfill his potential and, then, even grow well beyond his natural capabilities.
Rav Yaakov Kaminetzky, in his Sefer Emet L'Yaakov(Shemot 2:7) says that when the daughter of Pharaoh discovered a crying baby (Moshe) in a basket floating on the river, she wanted to get a wet nurse to feed him. Moshe's sister, Miriam was there and asked Pharaoh's daughter, Shall I go and summon for you a wet nurse from the Hebrew women, who will nurse the boy for you? Rashi Hakadosh says that the baby had refused to nurse from Egyptian women because, "Is it proper that the mouth which will later speak to Hashem should drink unclean milk?"
The Rama(Yoreh Deah 81:7) rules that a child should not nurse from an gentile woman if it is possible to nurse from a Jewish woman. This is because as the Gemara (Yoma 39a) says, the gentile milk causes Timtum HaLev, (a spiritual obstruction of the heart, i.e. mind) and creates in the child a Tevah Rah (tendency towards evil). The Gaon M'Vilna (31) says that the source of the Halacha is Moshe's refusal to suckle from the Egyptian wet nurses. The question on this is that how could Moshe's behavior become the requirement for every Jewish child throughout the ages? Moshe couldn't nurse from an Egyptian woman because he would later be privileged to speak face to face with the Shechinah. Who else would have such a Zechut? Rav Yaakov answers that an important lesson in Chinuch can be extrapolated from this Halacha. Every Jewish child has the potential for greatness, even to the level of being able to converse with the Shechinah. Therefore, nothing should be done which could, in any way, compromise or damage this enormous potential. This thought should be kept in mind when choosing a Yeshivah for one's child, that the Chinuch he will receive be pure and holy.
This can be the deeper meaning of the father's Tefillah that his son's heart be as open to Torah as the Ulam. Realize the potential for greatness your son has been endowed with and do everything possible to develop and enhance the potential. Spare no effort or expense to see to it that your newborn son will become a Talmid Chacham and Tzaddik and a beacon of spiritual light for the Jewish people.(Sefer Chinuch HaBanim B'Zmanainu)
A child's confidence comes from the home. A child looks to his parents to know how great he can be. When our children sit at the Shabat table and want to share a Dvar Torah with us, this is the time where they will see if they can become a Tzaddik or not. If we tell them later, later we don't have time to listen now, then in their minds they will think, my parents don't want to listen to my Dvar Torah. Now the next week when their Rebbe calls on them to share a Dvar Torah in front of the whole class, in their head they will say if my parents don't want to hear my Dvar Torah why will anyone else!
Now let us look at what we can accomplish by encouraging our children to share Divrei Torah at the Shabat table. They stand up and share their Dvar Torah, which is followed by their parents telling them "Wow that was an amazing, great job!" Next time an opportunity to share a Dvar Torah comes around, they will jump at the opportunity, because their parents said they were amazing! Listening to our children's Divrei Torah can help them practice their speaking skills in a comfortable environment, which will one day help them speak in from of thousands as a leader of Klal Yisrael! Yes that is true, "YOUR" child can be the next leader of Klal Yisrael. Let us all encourage our children to speak Divrei Torah at the Shabat table, and help them take their first step in becoming a Gadol B'Yisrael AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Food of Bracha!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message has been sponsored by Eliyahu Tzvi Ben Rachel. In the Zechut of his helping spread Torah. Hashem should bless him with clarity in all aspects of his life, with much Simcha. AMEN!

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat Rabeinu Shlomo Eliezer Ben R' Yaakov Elfandri(The Saba Kadisha), and R' Mordechai Shraga Feivish Friedman of Husiyatin. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel. AMEN! And a Zechut for every Jew to have many reason to be B'Simcha Bekarov AMEN!

A Talmid Chacham who came from an important family lived in Tzefat; he had been married for many years and had not yet had any children. This man had been constantly Mitpallel to Hashem and had approached many doctors, but nothing had helped him and his wife achieve their greatest desire -- a child. The Talmid Chacham decided to go to the local Beit Din to ask for a Get for his wife. The Beit Din decided not to give him the Get because it would have broken up a home where Shalom Bayit still existed. Instead, they spoke to him gently and tried to cheer him up before sending him back home. Undeterred from his goal, the man tried to go to a Sephardic Beit Din, but they, too, would not give him a Get.
The Talmid Chacham finally went to the Saba Kadisha, and he asked the Gadol to tell the Beit Din to give him a Get. The Saba Kadisha did not immediately agree to the man's request. Instead, he said, "Come back to me on Purim."
The man returned to the Saba Kadisha on Purim to give him Mishloach Manot. He saw that the Saba Kadisha had a table set up for Seudat Purim. The Saba Kadisha treated this Talmid Chacham like all his other guests. The man spoke to the Chacham in depth, telling him all the details of his situation. The Saba Kadisha told him to please take some refreshments and drink from the Chacham's own cup, where there was still wine left over. He told the Talmid Chacham to share the wine with his wife.
"Hashem is going to give you a lot of Bracha with children," said the Chacham. This man went home to share the wine with his wife, burdened only by the pleasant weight of the happy news and tremendous renewed strength. That year he had a baby boy, and he named him after the Saba Kadisha; Shlomo. The father always repeated to his son the story of how he had been born because of a Bracha from a true Chacham, the great Saba Kadisha.(A Legacy of Leader, Hacham Shlomo Eliezer Elfandri)
Chazal tell us that all Bracha comes from Shabat. If drinking from a Tzaddik's cup can perform such wonders, imagine what Shabat food can do! Every single one of us knows someone who needs a Yeshua. Whether, they are single, or haven't had children yet. We all adorn our Shabat tables with many delicacies, let us invite these people to share in the delicacies of Shabat, and the Bracha will come upon them as well. The Arizal writes that a person can reach higher levels with the food on Shabat, than with the Tefillot of Shabat. Lets make sure that this Shabat our Gefilte fish, Kibe, and Cholent are not just tasty foods, but bestowers of Bracha. May we all see many Yeshuot in our lives Bekarov Bechinam AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Learning How To Enjoy Shabat!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Chaim Meir Yechiel of Mogelnitz. His Neshama should have an Aliyah. Zechto Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, and Binyamin Ben Chana Gittle. AMEN! And a Zechut for Perel Devora Bat Yochevet to have Ziata Dishmaya to do well on all her tests Ben B'Ruchniut Ben B'Gashmiut AMEN! Bechinam Bekarov!

One should treasure every moment of Shabat and not rush to see it depart. How unfortunate it is that many people rush the Shabat out by davening Arvit at the earliest possible time!
Rav Avraham Pam ztl once described the scene in a little Shteibel where, in his younger years, he davened Arvit on Motzei Shabat. Arguments would frequently break out among the congregants: One would say, "Nu! Es Iz Shoin Tzeit Tzu Davenen! ("It is already time to daven!") "Nein, Nuch Drei Minute!"(No, another three minutes!") would be the reply. "Vus Retz'du? Dein Zeiger Kricht!" (What are you talking about? Your watch is slow!") Another person would announce that he was just outside and saw three small stars in the sky; a sign that it was already nightfall.(see Shulchan Aruch, Orach Chayim 293:2)
What is the big rush to escort Shabat out? In the Friday night Zemirot of Kol Hamekadesh, we praise those "who delay the departing from the Shabat." Shabat is a time of Menucha (tranquility). The Tur (295) writes that even the wicked who are experiencing terrible punishments in Gehenoim enjoy tranquility on Shabat. Nonetheless, at the conclusion of Shabat, the wicked return to their punishments and, as the Rama (295:1) notes, this is the reason why some Jews have the custom V'Yehi Noam on Motzei Shabat, to extend for a few more minutes the reprieve of the wicked from returning to Gehenoim.
There are various opinions as to when Shabat is over. Is it 45,60,72, or 90 minutes after sunset? What is the official time in Gehenoim to bring back the wicked for the resumption of their punishments? The Yesod V'Shoresh Ha'Avodah (8:1) quotes Kabbalistic sources which say that the wicked return to Gehenoim at the time when they (generally) held the conclusion of Shabat during their their lifetimes. If they were from those who impatiently waited for the earliest time to end Shabat, their punishment will resume at the earliest time as well. If they tried to extent the Shabat as long as possible, they will receive the same courtesy from Shamayim as well.
It is especially important to inculcate children with an appreciation that every minute of Shabat one experiences is a prelude to the pleasure and happiness of Olam Haba. Then they will not be so impatient to see the departure of Shabat and the lifting of the many restrictions that Shabat seems to place on them. It is unfortunate that many parents fail to convey the feelings of spiritual "Oneg" that a Jew should experience on Shabat. Teaching children to enjoy Shabat is an integral part of Chinuch HaBanim.(Sefer Chinuch HaBanim B'Zmanainu)
Imagine a family that lived near the beach. Growing up the parents never took the time to teach their child how to swim. Several years go by and this child is out with his friends and they all go to the beach and every kid besides him runs into the water and is having so much fun. This child, standing there alone, starts to feel sad that he can't enjoy with his friends. All this, because his parents never taught him how to swim. Some simple swimming lessons, could have saved this kid much pain and embarrassment.
How can we not take the time to teach our children how to enjoy Shabat. Doesn't every parent want so save their child from pain and suffering? So then how can we not teach them how to enjoy the greatest pleasure in this world: Shabat, and save them from what could be extra time in Gehenoim! Some simple Zemirot and learning on Shabat can save your child much pain and embarrassment in the Next World. May we all merit to enjoy a long awesome Shabat this week AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom The Simcha Attitude!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Yerachmiel Rabinowitz of Peshischa, R' Moshe Mordechai Twersky of Trisk, and R' Refael Binaymin Ben R' Aryeh Levine. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel, and Binyamin Ben Chana Gittel. AMEN! And a Zechut for Eliyahu Tzvi Ben Rachel, Daniel Yoel Ben Chana, Binyamin Ben Chana Gittel, Esther Miriam Bat Mazal, Perel Devora Bat Yochevet, Dinah Bat Sheina Beila, Simcha Bat Devora, Anshel Ben Tzivia, Eliyahu Yehuda Ben Feiga Rachel, Avraham Ben Tzipa Chaya, Levit Yekutiel Ben Devora Rachel, Maniel Ben Rina, Daniel Ben Yael, Nachum Ben Sara and Shlomo Ben Sheva Sara to find their Zivugim Bekarov with a lot of Hatzlacha and Bracha AMEN!

A Ben Torah has to always be in a state of Simcha in gratitude for the privilege he has to spend his life in the service of Hashem. If he walks around depressed and sad its a Chillul Hashem(disgrace to G-d). People will see him and come to the conclusion that "Judaism is depressing". Torah, they will say, is an enormous burden and those who carry it must endure suffering and sacrifice. True, they will be rewarded in Olam Haba but life on this world is a never-ending string of misery. Thus, those who are not willing to endure hardships on this world for a promise of sublime pleasure in Olam Haba will throw off the yoke of Torah from themselves. But if a Ben Torah is always filled with Simcha and projects an image of a person truly living with a purpose and sense of mission -- that is a Kiddush Hashem. Additionally, it will serve as a magnetic force to bring others closer to a life of Torah, because everyone wants to have a fulfilling happy life.
A person's attitude of Simcha in the service of Hashem can have a profound influence on his children as well. Rav Avraham Pam ztl would tell of a brilliant colleague of his who served with great devotion and sacrifice as Rav of a Shul and as the head of a Yeshivah. His children were also highly intelligent but, sadly, every one of them strayed from the path of Torah and became irreligious! Rav Pam felt that a major cause of this tragedy was the Rav himself. He constantly complained at home about the problems he had in the Rabbinate and the Yeshivah -- the quarrels with the Shul's president, board members, the financial problems of the Yeshivah, the difficulties with the congregants, and so on. All the children heard was the misery of their father's life and decided they would not endure what he had to go through. They rejected not only careers in the Rabbinate but his way of life and his Torah! (Sefer Chinuch HaBanim B'Zmanainu)
Throughout the week, all of us are away from home a lot, working to make a Parnasa. Because of this our children do not get to see us much. When Shabat comes this is our chance to really influence and teach our children. It is on Shabat that we have the opportunity to show our children how much we love and enjoy serving Hashem. The problem is that sleeping throughout the entire Shabat, and groaning about having to get up to daven is not exactly the way to do that.
This week let us show our children how much we love serving Hashem. Lets get excited when Shabat comes, sing Zemirot at the Shabat table, lets bring it to their attention that we have special food just for Shabat. Lets not talk about politics, financial problems or sports at the table, but lets get excited about Hashem's Torah. Its time to grab a long Shabat and use it to its max, by packing it full with Simcha of serving Hashem! May we merit to build a generation whose true Simcha is from serving Hashem AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Teach Accordingly

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message has been sponsored by David Alfih Liulay Nishmat Subhi Ben Shafika and Tzalha Bat Esther. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah to the highest of the high. And they should be Melitzei Yosher for David and his entire family. AMEN!

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Abba Shaul, R' Yosef Yotka Ben R' Yehudah Yudel(Author of the Yesod Yosef, Rebbe of the Kav Hayashar), R' Tzvi Hirsch Ben R' Yaakov Ashkenazi(Hacham Tzvi), R' Menachem Mendel of Vitebsk Ben R' Moshe, R' Shmuel Shmelke Ben R' Tzvi Halevi, R' Avraham Ben R' Shmuel(Author of the Beit Avraham), R' Akiva Yosef Schlesinger(Author of Levi HaIvri) and R' Moshe Shmuel Ben R' Aryeh Shapira. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel and Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel. AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to get all their Shabat needs B'Shefa Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

Rav Avraham Pam ztl would often relate what motivated him to begin his Friday Chumash Shiur, which he delivered for over thirty-five years and which made such a profound effect on two generations of his students. His Talmidim were involved with in-depth Gemara analysis all week long. Yet would sit at the Shabat table with nothing to say. Many of their fathers never had the opportunity for intense Gemara learning and could not appreciate (or even understand) what their sons had learned that week. Thus the conversation at the Shabat table would often degenerate into mundane matters and Lason Hara.
Realizing this, Rav Pam decided to devote his Friday Shiur to Torah topics on the Parashah of the week which would be suitable and inspiring for everyone sitting at the Shabat table - men, women, and children of all ages.     Additionally, he would say that, just like the women of the house prepared the Shabat delicacies before Shabat, so, too, should Yeshuvah students prepare their spiritual "delicacies" -- an inspiring Torah thought or interesting Halachic topic - before Shabat. Doing so would transform the atmosphere at the Shabat table from a mere family meal into an occasion for spiritual growth and character improvement.(Sefer Chinuch HaBanim B'Zmanainu)
This does not only apply to Yeshivah Bachurim. Every parent has an obligation to inspire their children to want to learn Torah and serve Hashem. A parent must know his child and speak accordingly. If your child just started to learn Chumash, quoting Gemarot will not do anything and If your child just started to learn Gemara, telling him every Rashba and Ritva is going to be useless. You must know who you are speaking to and speak on their level. And by doing this you will help them get inspired and grow. May we merit to transform our Shabat tables into an inspirational experience with much well understood Torah AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom No Instant Torah!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Weinberg, and R' Chayim Yitzchak Cheikin. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel and Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel. AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to have all their Shabat needs B'Shefa Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

One of the ills of modern society is the proliferation of "get-rich-quick" schemes. Many people have lost their life's savings or have sunk deep into debt by falling prey to the lure of those who promise an easy shortcut to riches. Shlomo Hamelech long ago cautioned of the dangers facing those impatient to get rich. Unfortunately, this issue is not limited to financial advancement. It applies to spiritual matters as well. In a society of instant coffee, instant communications, and instant test results, there are some parents who expect their children to become "instant Talmidei Chachamim". They want them to make great advancement in their Torah knowledge in a very short time. If this cannot be achieved, they come to the erroneous conclusion that Torah greatness is out of their children's reach and feelings of depression and hopelessness quickly set in.
This is an unfortunate error because the road to Torah greatness is not achieved with the proverbial "leaps and bounds" How is it attained? Shlomo Hamelech teaches us in Mishlei(13:11) that wealth gathered by hand will accumulate.
The Ibn Ezra explains that when one works hard in gradually acquiring wealth, he will be successful. The same applies to Torah knowledge. Every Pasuk of Chumash, every Mishnah, every page of Gemara, every Halacha, every piece of Divine knowledge that a child acquires should be considered an accomplishment and a step closer to Torah greatness. When a parent realizes that this is the formula for success, there will be no room for sadness and feelings of failure because there is a daily sense of fulfillment. Parents should realize that the road to Torah greatness is not restricted to those with brilliant minds. The main prerequisite is the child's desire to succeed and the realization that it is a gradual process which will eventually bear fruit..(Sefer Chinuch HaBanim B'Zmanainu)
Acquiring Torah greatness takes time. Which many parents don't have during the week. As summer is coming closer the days are getting longer. Instead of reading every sports and news article there is, let us spend this precious time learning with our children and helping them achieve Torah greatness. One Shabat at a time. May we all merit to become Torah giants and see our children become Torah giants themselves. AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom The Morning and The Evening

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat Miriam HaNevia, R' Bezalel HaKohen(Author of Mareh Kohen and Shut Reishit Bikkurim) and R' Shalom Mashash. Thier Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel and Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel AMEN! And a Zechut for all those that are single to find their Zivugim Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

"...half of it in the morning and half of it in the afternoon.(6:13)
Every day of the year, the Kohen Gadol must bring a Korban called Chavitei Kohen Gadol. This is a Korban-Mincha with the unique attribute that half is burned in the morning and half in the evening. This teaches us that people must see to it that when they go home in the evening, they have not descended from the high level of Kedusha they had when they left from home in the morning. The job of the Kohen Gadol is to ensure this occurs, through his Avodah in the Beit Hamikdash, Torah, and Kedusha. And when there is no Kohen Gadol, the obligation to bring the Korban devolves upon all the Kohanim.
Even if a person finds it impossible to maintain his Kedusha at a constant peak level, he must not despair, for we find that if the entire Korban was brought in the morning, it is valid. This teaches that even if a man knows that he cannot be perfect, he should do whatever he can, and this will lead to perfection, because Mitzvot bring other Mitzvot in their wake.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah II, Parashat Tzav, Derush Gimmel)
All Bracha stems from Shabat. Hashem gave us the most amazing gift of Shabat, where we have no worries and much time to learn Torah. The Yetzer Hara comes to many of us and says, "what is the point of learning on Shabat, you never learn during the week, so what's the point?" But we must make sure not to listen to this foolishness. Because if we start to learn on Shabat, magically we will find ourselves starting to learn during the week as well. Torah Goreret Torah. We must stay away from the Yetzer Hara's thinking, I am not perfect so what's the point of even trying. But how can a person ever reach perfection if he never tries? Let us all bring our morning Korban this Shabat and start learning and then with time we will be Zoche to bring the evening Korban and learn during the week as well. AMEN Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Avot and Toldot!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Aryeh Leib Grossnass(Author of Lev Aryeh), R' Eliyahu Meir Finkel, and R' David Stavsky. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel. AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to have an amazing Shabat packed with Torah, Tefillah, Kedushah, Menuchah, Amazing food and peaceful rest AMEN!

"...and he commits one of them."(4:2)
In describing the circumstances which result in the obligation to bring a Korban Chatat(Sin-offering), the Torah uses the words, "Mei'Achat Mei'Hena" The plain meaning of these words is that the person did "one of them" "them" being certain proscribed acts. However, the literal meaning would be "of one of them". Chazal derive several rules from this unusual wording. One is that the laws of Shabat Kodesh are comprised of both "Avot" and "Toldot". These are the primary and principal categories of forbidden work and their derivative subcategories. Another is that sometimes a person is liable to bring many Korbanot for his many sins -- where he knew it was Shabat but didn't remember that his acts were forbidden, and that sometimes a person brings one Korban for many acts -- where he knew that such acts would be forbidden on Shabat, but he forgot that the day was Shabat.(Gemara Shabat 70a)
These lessons can be applied in everyday life. A person must establish "Avot"; he must clearly set out for himself what is important in life, and then make sure that all the many branches of his life stem from those fundamental principles...(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah II, Parashat Vayikrah, Derush Bet)
To be successful in instilling order into our's lives, and making priorities, we must think. The Yetzer Hara fights hard to make sure we do not think. If we started to think, wee will start to realize some of the things we are doing, are not the best for our Avodat Hashem.
If we want to create "Avot" and realize what is important in life, we must use the weapon Hashem gave us; Shabat. During the week, the Yetzer Hara has many weapons; cellphones, emails, work, school etc. But Shabat it all stops! Now that we are free of all these distractions, and its time to organize our lives, and work on being better Ovdai Hashem. May we merit to use the long Shabat Kodesh to instill order in our lives and choose the correct priorities. AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

"The entire congregation of the Children of Israel left Moshe's presence"(35:20)
This is the only place where the Torah makes a point of saying that the people left Moshe's presence after being given the Mitzvah of donating materials for the Mishkan. If so, we may presume that there is some special reason why the Torah relates this fact here and may legitimately ask what it is.
We submit, therefore, that the Torah intends to teach us a lesson about the proper attitude in performing Mtizvot: Just as the people went immediately to fulfill the Mitzvah they had just been given without waiting to see if Moshe planned to teach them anything further, we too should hasten to perform any Mitzvah that presents itself to us.          Furthermore, it is apparent that there was no great reason for haste at this point, since the work on the Mishkan was completed by the twenty-fifth of Kislev and lay unassembled for three months until the week before Rosh Chodesh Nissan. But this was irrelevant from the point of view of the people at that time; they had a Mitzvah to do and their responsibility was simply to do it as quickly as possible. How much more so must we hurry to do the many Mitzvot we are given in which time is a factor.(Darash Moshe Al Torah, Parashat Vayakel, Derush Daled)
Mi K'Amcha Yisrael Goy Echad B'Aretz(Who is like Your nation Israel!). When people are told that they must be at work from 9-5, they usually arrive at nine and leave at five. Klal Yisrael on the other hand is special. Shabat according to the strict law is twenty five hours. But Klal Yisrael loves Hashem and His Mitzvot so much, that they extended it. So many among this amazing nation run to start Shabat early, unable to wait to enjoy Hashem's wonderful gift, and when its time to end, many more pray later so they can enjoy the Kedusha of Shabat just a little longer. Hashem look at Your nation! Truly one of a kind! In the merit of extending the Shabat, may we merit to see the time of Kulo Shabat Bekarov AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

"...and you shall not duplicate it in its formulation."(30:32)
On the surface this Mitzvah seems unnecessary. Since Chazal tell us that the anointing oil was produced through a miracle(Yerushalmi, Sotah, 8:3) it would have been totally impossible to reproduce it, and surely Hashem would not preform a miracle to help someone transgress so serious a prohibition. (True, we might say that this Pasuk comes to teach us that even if Hashem were to preform such a miracle and make anointing oil for someone who plans to misuse it, this would only be a test from Hashem, much like the test he set by giving false prophets the power to perform signs and wonders. In such a situation, our challenge is to ignore these miracles and to reinforce our faith that someone who violates the Torah is nonetheless wicked, no matter how many great miracles he is able to conjure. It is unlikely, however, that this is the intention of our Pasuk.)
Instead, we suggest that the real prohibition here is against even wanting to produce an imitation of the anointing oil, even though there is no possibility of actually carrying out the desire. From this we can learn the lesson that imitation of anything is simply fraud whose purpose is to deceive the world. This applies in particular to the practices of those merely imitate the Torah's Mitzvot, without any intention of performing Hashem's Will and genuinely observing His Torah. Everything such people do is merely an attempt to imitate the sanctity of Torah, for unless they make such an attempt, no one would ever be drawn to follow them.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Ki Tisa, Derush Daled)
One of the famous things that the world has tried to copy from the Torah, is the day of rest. Hashem commanded us to work six days and rest on the seventh. The seventh day is a day totally dedicated to the service of Hashem. The world decided that they wanted a rest day as well and chose the next day. We have strengthen ourselves in the real thing, and realize that there is nothing even remotely similar between these two days. Resting on Sunday is not a commandment from Hashem, but resting on Shabat and sitting and learning on Shabat and eating Kugel and Chulent and Kibe is the Will of Hashem. May we all merit to truly do the Will of Hashem and with that merit to see the coming of Mashiach Tzidkainu Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom A True Leader!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message R' Gershon Ashkenazi(Author of Avodat Gershuni and Chidushei HaGershuni), Hacham Rabeinu Chayim Yosef David Azulai Ben R' Refael Yitzchak Zerachia(The Chida, Author of around 80 sepharim), R' Yehoshua Moshe Orenstein(Author of Yam HaTalmud), R' Yosef Ben R' Fishel Rosen(The Ragachover Gaon, Author of Tzofnat Paneach), R' Avraham Bornstein Ben R' Zev Nachum(Author of the Avnei Nezer and Iglei Tal), R' Shmuel Brudny(Rosh Yeshivat Mir) R' Elazar Lipman Weisbloom(Father of Reb Elimelech and Reb Zusha), and Rabeinu Avraham Abuchatzeira Ben Rabeinu Yaakov. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN And a Zechut for Klal Yisrael to have an amazing Shabat AMEN!

The word "Tezaveh" literally means "command" as the opening Pasuk of our Parashah reads, "And you should command the children of Israel that they should bring to you pure olive oil..."
However, "Tezaveh" is also a derivative of the word "Tzavta", meaning "connection". According to this translation, the Pasuk would read, "And you should connect the Jewish people..." This hints to the fact that Moshe connects the Jewish people with Hashem.
When he succeeds in his task, Moshe becomes spiritually strengthened. For as a true leader, his entire essence and being is bound up with the people, so that when the people increase their connection with Hashem, it makes Moshe stronger. This is hinted to at the end of the Pasuk, "They should bring to you pure olive oil." i.e. when Moshe connects the Jewish people to Hashem, Moshe's own spiritual light grows stronger.
The Pasuk continues, "Crushed for lighting," i.e. when the Jewish people are "crushed" in Galut, there is always a Jewish leader of the caliber of Moshe to be found, referred to in the Zohar Hakadosh as, "the extension of Moshe in every generation" This leader can take a people who are spiritually crushed and transform then to be ready, "for lighting" spiritually awake and illuminated.
Then, the Jewish people can reach the level indicated by the end of the Pasuk, "to ignite the lamp until it burns continually" i.e. that they become spiritually self-sufficient, to the extent that they no longer rely on their leader, and that they can "burn continually" without his direct input.(Sefer Hama'amorim Melukat, 6, pg 129, The Rebbe M'Lubavitch)
I believe this Pasuk is also alluding to the way a leader of a household should educate his children. At first a child needs the father to sit and help him build a connection with Hashem. But the father's goal should be to ignite the lamp until it burns continually. Do not just teach your child Torah, but give him the skills to be able to learn by himself, and become self-sufficient.
Doing this will greatly benefit the child, as well as the father. The child will not be totally dependent on his father, but will be able to use the tools his father gave him to reach his full potential. And the father through his child's success will benefit both in this world and the next. Shabat Shalom!

"...like everything that I show you"(25:9)    Rashi Hakaodsh comments that this Pasuk is to be read together with the preceding one. Make a Sanctuary for me like everything that I show you. If so, why does the Torah interrupt this thought with the promise so that I may dwell among them?
We must say that the Torah wishes to make the point that Hashem's explicit instructions apply only to creating this sanctity, the sanctity of the physical Sanctuary which is made of wood and stones. But there is also another sanctity, that which each Jew is required to bring into his heart and home by educating his children and instilling in his family the behavior and customs the Torah holds as proper and desirable behavior. For this kind of sanctity there is no general instructions that apply to everyone equally; each person must develop for himself ways of educating his children or students that are best suited to his own individual nature, and to the personalities and abilities of the children or students. The essential point here is that everything one does must be for the sake of Heaven (however that can be accomplished in a particular situation) to drawing those around him close to Hashem and His Mitzvot.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Terumah, Derush Gimmel)
Hashem in His infinite wisdom gave us a day free of all worry and free of work. Shabat is a day where unlike the rest of the week, we actually have free time. We must use this free time to strengthen ourselves and our children in the service of Hashem. We have time to sit with our children and find out what their strengthens are and work with them to build them to their utmost potential. Let us make Shabat a time where we make our hearts and our homes a place where Hashem wants to be. And in the merit of doing this we will constantly have Hashem in our homes helping us raise our children and you cant ask for better help than that! Shabat Shalom

The Zohar Hakadosh(III 96b) teaches that the sale and servitude of Jewish slaves is symbolic of the descent of the Neshama into the body.
The Caananite slave refers to the initial stages of a man's Avodat Hashem, when he must overcome the influence of the animal soul that lusts for worldly pleasures. This is accomplished with fear of the Master and acceptance of His yoke. The person coerces his animal soul to conform to the wishes of the Master, at least on the practical level.    The Hebrew slave has reached a higher level. In him the Divine attributes of the G-dly Neshama illuminate the animal soul and influence it to feel some desire for G-dliness. Nevertheless, the worldly desires of the animal soul have not been completely quieted or subdued.
The highest level of Avodat Hashem is symbolized by the Hebrew Maidservant. Halacha states that a Hebrew girl may be sold by her father only if the purchaser has an eligible son for the girl.(Rambam, Laws of Slaves, 4:11) i.e. the goal of female servitude is marriage (unity with a spouse).
Similarly, when the Neshama is sent on its early journey into a body, the ultimate goal is a total unity (marriage) with Hashem. Thus, the Hebrew maidservant represents the person whose desire for worldly pleasures has been completely sublimated and transformed to desire only G-dliness.(Likutei Sichot, Vol 26 p 371, The Lubavitcher Rebbe)
During the six days of work, a person can become so immersed in physicality that when Shabat comes he cries, "I do not want to rest" for he has become "enslaved" to his worldly affairs. Therefore Hashem says, "The children of Israel are slaves to Me" even while the person is involved in worldly affairs, he is not a "slave of slaves". On the contrary he uses them for his true need, to serve Hashem.(Likutei Sichot, Vol 11, p 97, The Lubavitcher Rebbe)
In secular society, a holiday, is a day of commemoration, of an event that happened in the past. Judaism believes on the other hand, that everytime that day comes, it carries with it the power of that holiday. Succot is not just a commemoration of what happened to the Jews in the Midbar, but every year it carries with it the power of Zman Simchatainu. The same applies to the Parashah that we read every week. During this Shabat of Parashat Mishpatim, we are given extra power to correct what we have wronged and come back to be slaves of Hashem, and Hashem only.
We must use this extra power to strengthen ourselves in the service of the "Almighty Hashem" and not the "Almighty Dollar". Recent times have shown us that our money is not as reliable as we thought it was. May we all merit to truly be servants of Hashem, and in return have Him truly take care of us, as a Master is supposed to take care of a Jewish servant. AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Seeing Thunder

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is in honor of Eliyahu Tzvi Ben Rachel's birthday. He should be zoche to have Osher VOsher Shefa Bracha UParnasa Tova VHatzlacha Rabbah Bechinam Bekarov AMEN!   This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Chayim David Ben R' Yissachar, R' Yosef Ben R' Yechiel Mechel of Zlotchov, and R' Ovadia Ben R' Shlomo Hadyah(Author of Yaskil Avdi). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN!
"The entire people saw the thunder"(20:15)
Rashi Hakadosh comments on this Pasuk that at the time of the Revelation the people "saw the which is audible, which is impossible see elsewhere" For what purpose did Hashem perform this seemingly unnecessary miracle?    Hashem wished to teach the Bnei Yisrael an important lesson in how to properly approach Torah study. It is not sufficient for a person to have a superficial understanding of the Torah. Rather a person must strive, using all of his energies and intellectual abilities, to understand the lessons of the Torah study -- as if they were spelled out to him in front of his eyes. The common ability to hear thunder represents a simple level of understanding, the miraculous ability to actually see thunder -- that represents the level of understanding for which we must reach...(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah II, Parashat Yitro, Derush Daled)
While during the week, reading a sefer on the train might be the most a person can do, Shabat was given so we can "see thunder". We have to spend Shabat toiling in Torah to get really understand it. While it used to be that only certain people had the job of teaching people the Torah, today the obligation is on everyone. Each one of us has many opportunities throughout the day where we can inspire someone to come closer to Hashem. Whether it be a non-religious boss, a co-worker or just some person on the train, we must know the Torah well so we can pass it on to them. May we all be Zoche this Shabat to personally "see thunder" and with that merit, we should be Zoche as all of Klal Yisrael to see amazing miracles with the coming of Mashiach Tzidkainu Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN!

Shabat Shalom Doing Hashem's Will

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message has been sponsored by Avraham Yissachar Ben Chayim Dov. In the Zechut of his helping spread Torah, Hashem should bless him with Osher VOsher Shefa Bracha UParnasa Tova VHatzlacha Rabbah B'Ruchniut U'B'Gashmiut Bekarov Berevach. with much clarity in his life AMEN!

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Yaakov Yehoshua Falk Ben R' Tzvi Hirsch(Author of the Pnei Yehoshua), R' Yechiel Danzinger Ben R' Shraga Feivel, and R' Aryeh Moshe Eliyahu Ben R' Shmuel Kaplan. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN!

"Hashem said to Moshe Rabeinu, "Why do you cry out to Me? Speak to Bnei Yisrael and let them go forth."(14:15)
Asks Rav Moshe Feinstein ztl Why does Hashem criticize Moshe Rabeinu for davening to Him; is is not praiseworthy to ask for Hashem's help in every situation, especially one as desperate as that of the Jews at Yam Zuf? However, Moshe knew that Hashem would not have performed such miracles as He had in taking the Jews out of Mitzrayim for naught, and therefore there should have been no question in his mind that the Jews would survive to enter Eretz Yisrael and not be obliterated in the Midbar.
From this we may derive a valuable lesson for those engaged in disseminating Torah, and indeed, we are told that anyone capable of teaching Torah is required to do so. Just as Moshe Rabeinu knew that Hashem would surely rescue the Jews from the Mitzri armies pressing them against the Yam Zuf, so also a Torah educator must know that since Hashem has promised that Torah will never be forgotten by Bnei Yisrael (Devarim 31:21) his efforts will not fail...(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Beshalach, Derush Daled)
We live in a time where the Rabbis are telling us that the end not too far off. But there are still many of Hashem's children that are lost and have not found their way back to Him yet. We must do our part in bringing them back, and not let the Yetzer Hara get us by saying: "But what if they ask me a question I can't answer?" or something similar. We must realize that if we do Hashem's Will He will not let us fail! Every single one of us knows at least one person who has not returned to their Father yet, let us spend this amazing day of Hashem called Shabat, and help them see the way back to their Father in Heaven. In this Zechut we should all be zoche to see another Kriyat Yam Zuf where the Galut is cut in half and the Geula comes flying in AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Our Hour!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Refael Yom Tov Lipman Halperin(The Oneg Yom Tov), R' Chayim Tzvi Teitelbaum(The Atzei Chayim) and R' David Yitzchak Rabinowitz(The Skolya Rebbe, Author of the Tzemach David). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu AMEN! And a Zechut for Aryeh Leib Ben Chana to be successful in winning his court case on this world and his court case in Shamayim at 120 AMEN!

"Bo El Pharaoh -- Come to Pharaoh"(10:1)
Rashi Hakadosh comments: and warn him. He understood that Hashem's instructions to warn Pharaoh were given indirectly; even though the Torah does not relate that Hashem gave Moshe specific directions before his encounter with Pharaoh, it is apparent in retrospect from the fact that Moshe actually did warn Pharaoh that he must have been ordered to do so by Hashem. If this is so, however, a question arises: At the end of this Pasuk Hashem gives Moshe a reason for His command, for I have made his heart and the heart of his servants stubborn. How is that a reason to warn him?
HaGaon Rav Moshe Feinsten ztl explains that we can say that Hashem told Moshe, "Even though it will do no good to warn Pharaoh since I have hardened his heart in order to place these signs in his midst for you to relate to your descendants, still you must give him a warning in My Name." This may have been intended to teach a lesson to judges and courts of all generations: Even if you are convinced that someone is so obstinate in his wicked ways that all the warnings in the world will make no impression on him, it's not for you to look into people's hearts, and you must still warn him and apprise him of the repercussions of his actions before you can impose punishment on him.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Bo, Derush Gimmel)
We read in Pirke Avot, "Everything and every person has their hour." We all know people in our lives, that unfortunately have not come back to Hashem yet, even though many have tried to persuade them. Being that we do not know when "their hour" is we must never give up hope, if we have a chance to inspire them we must try. We must do our best to invite these people to our homes for Shabat and maybe the moment they taste our amazing tasting Giflte Fish or Kibe will be their "hour" and they will decide to mend their ways. Hashem never gives up hope that we will do Teshuvah and lets us continue to live, with the hope that we will come back. If Hashem believes that all His children will come back who are we to think otherwise? We must do all we can to help bring them all back and take every opportunity we are given, even we think they will not listen, because they haven't until now. Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Using Our Potential To Serve Hashem!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Yaakov Ben R' Bechor Shalom, R' Avraham Antebi(Author of Yoshev Ahalim), R' Natan Adler Ben R' Mordechai(Author of Nesina Leger), and R' Moshe Yehoshua Yehudah Leib Ben R' Binyamin Diskin(Maharil Diskin). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechuto Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for Esther Miriam Bat Mazal, Devora Chana Bat Dalia, Perel Devora Bat Yochevet, Levi Yekutiel Ben Devora Rachel, Simcha Bat Devora, Anshel Ben Tzivia, Daniel Yoel Ben Chana, Eliyahu Tzvi Ben Rachel, Eliyahu Yehudah Ben Feiga Rachel, Avraham Ben Tzipa Chaya, Dinah Bat Sheina Beila and Rivka Chana Bat Miriam Bayla to find their zivugim Bekarov Bechinam AMEN!

"Amram took his aunt Yochevet to him for a wife, and she bore him Aharon and Moshe."(6:20)
Rav Moshe Feinstein ztl says that it is noteworthy that the Torah does not name Moshe's parents until after he had been chosen to be the redeemer of Klal Yisrael. This omission holds a lesson for anyone privileged to have unusually gifted children. It is premature to praise them for their great potential until they have shown that they will actually use that potential in Hashem's service. Even if they are blessed with such brilliance that their house sparkles with light, their parents cannot simply rely on the hope that they will automatically turn out to be great and pious scholars and neglect the responsibility to guide them to use their gifts in Torah. On the contrary, the danger is that much greater that they will be drawn to use their talents in other fields to come to sin, as Chazal tell us "The greater the person, the greater his Yetzer Hara"(Gemara Sukkah 52a). Thus such a child requires even more of his parents' attention than an average child.
For this reason the Torah does not mention Moshe's parents until after he was grown and it was apparent that his parents had educated him to use his potential in Hashem's service rather in vain pursuits.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayeira, Derush Bet)
Every Jewish child is considered an only child of Hashem. With such a Father, every Jew has tremendous potential. HaRambam tells us that every Jew has the power to be as big of a Tzaddik as Moshe Rabeinu. Each person has his or her unique gifts, and were put into this world to use those gifts in the service of Hashem. What better day to educate our children on how to use their gifts in the service of Hashem as Shabat. Rabeinu Shimshon David Pincus ztl says: "Shabat is the day of Hashem" he says that this means we must spend Shabat doing things for Hashem and the things Hashem wants us to do. Can there be something better to do on Hashem's day than teaching His children Torah and how to use their amazing gifts to serve Hashem in the best way? Of course not! So let us spend this awesome Shabat strengthening all of Hashem's children's skills to serve Him in the best way, and in this merit, we will bring total perfection to this world. Just like Moshe Rabeinu who used all his gifts in the service of Hashem, eventually brought about a Geula, Yetziyat Mitzrayim. We who will do the same, will also see a Geula, the final one, with Mashiach Tzidkainu Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN!

Shabat Shalom The Greatest Toy In The World

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Yisrael Dov Ber Ben R' Yosef, R' Matzliach Mazuz of Djerba HY"D(Author of the Ish Matzlliach) and R' Yitzchak Ben R' Abba Abuchatzeira. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Levi Ben Bashcha Racha and Menachem Mendel Ben Sarah AMEN!

   "and Yosef was in Mitzrayim"(1:5)
Rashi Hakadosh comments that this Pasuk reveals Yosef's greatness. The Yosef who tended his father's flocks was the same Yosef who became king of Mitzrayim, and remained steadfast in his righteousness. If this is the intent of our Pasuk, however, it seems out of place here, especially since we have already been told of Yosef's accomplishment at the end of Bereshit.
We may understand it, however, in its context. The first Pasuk informs us how precious Yosef's brothers were to Hashem because they were with Yaakov Avinu, meaning that Yaakov had raised them and taught them his ways. Now we are told that Yosef was also dear to Hashem because even in Mitzrayim, he reached the pinnacle of righteousness for which his education at Yaakov's hands had prepared him, an education so effective that throughout his stay in Mitzrayim his father's countenance remained constantly before his eyes (Bereshit 48:5) guiding him and setting an example for him.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Shemot, Derush Bet)
We only get one chance at educating our children correctly. Hashem in His infinite wisdom gave us an amazing tool to help us: Shabat. Shabat is an opportune time to spend time with the children, learn with them and most importantly show them by example how important Shabat, learning and Avodat Hashem are to you. And by doing this, even if your child gets into a difficult situation he will remember serving Hashem as a positive and will turn to Him, when he needs help. So instead of spending Shabat sleeping for 18 hours straight or reading a sports magazine, lets us spend our Shabat with guests singing praises to Hashem and discussing His Awesome Torah. Torah is called Shashuim, it is the toy of Hashem. Let us spend this Shabat playing with a toy created by the greatest Toy Maker in the world: Hashem! In the Zechut of learning and spreading Torah, we should be Zoche to pass it on to our children who will in turn pass it on to theirs, no matter where they are. AMEN!

Shabat Shalom Make Your Days Count!

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Alter Elazar Menachem Ben R' Moshe Mordechai Biderman of Lelov, R' Reuven Dov Dessler(Father of R' Eliyahu Dessler), R' Tzvi Hirsch of Teplik, R' Mordechai Twersky of Levoi, and Rabeinu Aryeh Moshe Eliyahu Ben R' Shmuel Kaplan(Author and translator of many Sefarim such as the famed Torah Anthology). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to have Parnasa B'Shefa AMEN!

"And the days of Yaakov, the years of his life, were one hundred and forty-seven years."(47:28)
Generally the Torah recounts the life span of a person immediately prior to or following his death. It is unusual that Yaakov's days are mentioned at the beginning of the Parashah, still some time before his death.
The count is placed here, however, to teach us that each day of Yaakov's life was uniform in terms of his dedication to Hashem and to Torah, from the days of his youth in his father's house, through the years he studied in the Beit Midrashot of Shem and Ever, the years he spent in Lavan's house, and the years of anguish over Yosef's absence, and throughout the years in Mitzrayim. In his youth he had attained the same spiritual level he was to attain in his old age. It was the merit of these accomplishments that his image was engraved on the Kise HaKavod (Bereshit Rabbah 82;2) for he was able to take pride in all his days. Thus the length of his life span is related well before his demise to show that all of his days were equal in spiritual content.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayechi, Derush Bet)
In shamayim a person's age is judged by how many days he used correctly.(R' Shachter). With each day that Hashem gives you, He gives you a job to do that day, and if you do it then it was a successful day. Shabat is a day that was set aside for learning, inviting people to our homes for amazing food, zemirot and divrei Torah, and the more we do of this the more successful will be our day. Let us spend this Shabat learning and coming up with new chidushei Torah and sharing them on our Shabat tables with Hashem's children while we enjoy and share our Oneg Shabat of Kibe, Chulent, Lachmasheen and Gifilte fish. In this Zechut we will be zoche that this Shabat be one of the days that will stand to our defense in Shamayim. AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Creating Goshen!

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message is L'Zecher Nishmat R' Moshe David Vally(Talmid of the Ramchal), R' Baruch of Kaminka, R' Tzvi Ben R' Yisrael Baal Shem Tov, and R' Mordechai Yosef Leiner Ben R' Yaakov. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for all those that are in need of a Refua to get one quickly Bechinam Bekarov! AMEN!

"Thus Israel settled in the land of Mitzrayim in the region of Goshen"(47:27)
Why does the Torah state here that Israel settled in Mitzrayim when we know very well from the preceding Pesukim that Goshen was a region in Mitzrayim?
We may say that the Torah wishes to teach us that even though our destiny is to be exiled among the nations, we must do everything in our power not to intermingle with our gentile neighbors, and to avoid emulating their life-style and their values. We see this in the fact that even though our ancestors were forced to sojourn in Mitzrayim, they kept to themselves in a separate district, the region of Goshen.
Another lesson in this is that whatever land we live in, we are still required to study Torah and to serve Hashem with the same high degree of dedication and loyalty. Even though the region of Goshen was in the land of Mitzrayim, the home of sorcery and idolatry, Yaakov and his family continued to observe the Torah's Mitzvot with the same fervor they had felt in Eretz Yisrael.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayigash, Derush Vav)
We are now in Galut, and during the week we are forced to be tested every day by the life-style and values of our gentile neighbors. Hashem in His infinite kindness gave us Shabat, which is meant to be a time where we are free from all the negative influences of the gentiles. This only works if Shabat is used to connect to Hashem through Torah and Tefilla, but if it is used to read sports magazines and secular books then you have taken Mitzrayim's corrupt and vile values and brought them into Goshen. Let us truly create a Goshen and separate ourselves from the other nations and fully connect ourselves to Hashem and His Torah. And in this Zechut we will be Zoche to see the coming of Mashiach and the rectification of the Shechinah Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

The word Miketz means "at the end" as in the saying "the end of days"(Daniel 12:13)
In Aramaic the word "days" is almost identical to its Hebrew equivalent, but the last letter switches from a Mem to a Nun (Yamim=Yamin) The Zohar Hakadosh (I 62b) notes that this Aramaic word Yamin is identical to the Hebrew word Yamin meaning right and on this basis, the Zohar Hakadosh concludes: "There are two 'ends' one on the spiritual 'right' and one on the spiritual 'left'"
In Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism) "left" represents the side of evil. So, the "end of the spiritual left" refers to the day when evil will cease to exist, with the end of the Galut, i.e. "the end of days" - Ketz Hayamim.
"Right" on the other hand represents goodness and Kedusha. Thus we refer to the "end of the right" to indicate that there is no dilution of values in the realms of Kedusha, so the end is as good as the beginning. The term "Ketz HaYamin" "end of the spiritual right" is thus an allusion to the final redemption, when good will triumph over evil, and we will see how good is found consistently throughout the entire world.
We are thus left with the question: Which "end" does the word Miketz refer to -- the "end of the left" or the "end of the right"? In fact, both could be argued. A) At the beginning of our Parasha, Yosef HaTzaddik is released from jail. This was the end of Yosef's exile, i.e. the "end of the left." B) On the other hand, we then read how Yosef suddenly rose to power and became ruler over Mitzrayim -- his redemption, represented by "the end of the right."
How could the two opposite concepts of Galut and Geula be alluded to by the same expression? Chassidic thought explains that the inner purpose of Galut is that the Jews should be scattered around the world in order to "rescue" sparks of Kedusha which had been lost in physicality. Thus, Geula is not the elimination of Galut, but rather, it is the goal of Galut. And therefore, both concepts are hinted to in the same word.(Likutei Sichot 5, 200-1 The Rebbe of Lubavitch, Biurey HaZohar 299)
Each of us has a certain amount of sparks of Kedusha that we are responsible for rescuing. Many times we will be put into situations where we can do something to rescue the sparks in those places. Such as having our car break down at a certain exit, where these sparks are located and when we either say a Bracha or a learn a piece of Torah this spark will go up on High where it belongs. The Ohr HaChayim Hakadosh explains that there is a way where we can rescue these sparks without having our car break down in middle of nowhere. He says that Torah is a magnet for these sparks of Kedusha and when a person learns Torah the magnetic force of the Torah pulls these sparks to us from all over the world. What better time to spend learning Torah than Shabat, where each word is x 1000 its usual value. In the Zechut of us learning Torah on such a holy Shabat, where we have Shabat, Chanuka and Rosh Chodesh all in one, we should be zoche to rescue all the sparks of Kedusha and see the coming of Mashiach Tzidkainu Bmharia Veyamainu.    "On the grapevine were three tendrils; and it was as though it was budded -- its blossoms bloomed and its clusters ripened into grapes."(40:10)
The Gemara (Chullin 92a) relates two differing opinions as to the symbolism of this Pasuk. According to R' Eliezer, the grapevine represents the world, the tendrils the Avot, the blossoms the Imahot, and the ripening clusters the twelve Shevatim. R' Yehoshua says that the grapevine represents Torah; the three tendrils Moshe Rabeinu, Aharon Hakohen and Miriam; the blossoms the Sanhedrin; and the ripening clusters represent the Tzaddikim of each generation.
We wish to suggest an interpretation of these two accounts: Without the Avot, the Imahot and the twelve Shevatim, who together laid the foundation for the Jewish nation and their faith in Hashem, it would not have been possible to give the Torah. Once the Torah was given through the three shepherds of that generation, Moshe, Aharon and Miriam, the continued survival of the Jewish people was possible through the merit of the Sanhedrin and later, when the Sanhedrin ceased to exist, through the merit of the Tzaddikim of each generation.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayeishev, Derush Gimmel)
Just like the Avot, Imahot and Shevatim are the foundation of the world. Shabat is the foundation(source) of all Bracha. We have to spend our Shabatot learning Hashem's Torah and teaching it to others, so that we will be blessed with the bracha of Torah throughout the week. And by inviting Hashem's children to our tables, we are securing our Parnasa for the coming week. Just like Hashem made the Avot the foundation of the world, and from that came amazing bracha like Moshe Aharon and Miriam. Let us truly make Shabat the source of all Bracha and in this Zechut we will be zoche to Bracha as great as Moshe Aharon and Miram AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

"I have acquired oxen and donkeys"(32:6)
The word for "oxen" in this Pasuk is in the singular, Shor, Rashi Hakadosh comments that it is Derech Eretz to speak of many oxen as an "on". The expression Derech Eretz here seems to indicate some positive trait of Yaakov's, though how does calling oxen an "ox" reflect a praiseworthy quality?
In the context of our Pasuk, it seems more courteous to use the singular form to avoid boasting of one's wealth. This form also suggests that Yaakov thanked Hashem for even a single ox that He gave him, and thanked Him that much more for the far greater bounty Hashem bestows upon him continually. This teaches us that even when one is blessed with riches, he must not forget to thank Hashem even for the insignificant things he has.
This was the difference between Yaakov Avinu and Esav. When Yaakov said, "I have everything" he meant that he had everything he needed, since he recognized that Hashem gives each person just what he needs. When Esav said, "I have plenty" on the other hand, he meant to boast that he had more than he needed.
Moreover, one can truly say, "I have everything," because Hashem Who sustains all creatures, gives each person all he needs; but one cannot truly say, "I have plenty" because everything belongs to Hashem, and one must be always careful to make proper use of whatever Hashem bestows upon him. Therefore, one can never have "plenty" more than enough, because everything Hashem gives him is intended for some purpose, and therefore it can never be true that one has more than enough.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayishlach, Derush Gimmel)
Just like Hashem gives each person whatever he needs to complete his job on this world, and nothing is extra, and everything plays a role in helping him do his job, the same applies to the Klal. Hashem gave Klal Yisrael the gift of Shabat, and this is not just an "extra" day of rest. We all must use this gift to help bring the final Geula. We can do this by inviting Hashem's children to our homes, to experience a real Kedusha and 'Torah filled meal. We also must spend this day learning Hashem's Torah, because unlike the rest of the week, Hashem gives us a day free of work, now lets use it correctly. In this Zechut we will see the Geula Shelaima Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

From the fact that Reuven did not pick stalks of wheat, but only Dudaim, a kind of wildflower, Chazal in the Gemara Sanhedrin 99b deduce that Tzaddikim do not extent their hands to steal. Why is this conclusion considered significant? Is it not self-evident that anyone worthy of being called a Tzaddik would not steal since if he did, he would not be a Tzaddik but just an ordinary sinner?
However, Chazal wished to teach us a lesson about how meticulous Tzaddikim are in avoiding theft. One might think it would never enter the mind of a Tzaddik to steal anything, since he is so conscious of how serious an offense it is, and for this reason he would actually be more prone to taking other people's property inadvertently, without realizing it. Therefore the Torah has to tell us that Tzaddikim do not rely on their piety to protect them from stealing and never take their minds off this grave sin for an instant, lest they slip and take someone else's property without realizing that they are doing so. Thus Reuven was careful not to take wheat, which might have an owner, but only Dudaim, which are always owner less. The Torah teaches us the praise Tzaddikim deserve for this caution, and holds them up to us as models of how to observe Hashem's Mitzvot.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayetzei, Derush Gimmel)
Kol Yisrael Yesh Lahem Chelek L'Olam Haba, Shenemar V'Amech Kulam Tzaddikim...(All of Israel has a share in the World to Come. As it says, And Your people are all righteous...)(Pirke Avot) The first step in fighting the Yetzer Hara is to learn the laws and know what you are and are not allowed to do, in addition to knowing the laws, Hashem tells us, "Barati Yetzer Hara, Barati Lo Torah Tavleen"(I created the Evil Inclination, and I created Torah as its antidote) A person must know that is not enough, Chazal tell us that a person should not let his guard down, until the moment he dies. The Kav HaYashar says that a true friend is one that gives mussar. Many times we don't even realize that we are doing something wrong, even with our vast knowledge of Torah, and we must have a friend who can be there to inform us of our error. What better time to kill two birds with one stone, than on Shabat. We should all find a friend, who is serious about his service of Hashem, and set up a time to learn Torah with him over Shabat. In this Zechut both the Torah and our friends will protect us against the Yetzer Hara, and we will merit to be called "Tzaddikim". Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Emulating The "Select Av"

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message has been sponsored by Efraim and Liba Kreitner, in the Zechut of their helping spread Torah, Hashem should bless them with Osher Shefa Bracha Tova VHatzlacha Rabbah, Bechinam, Shalom Bayit and much Nachat from their beautiful daughter AMEN Bekarov!

This week's Shabat Message is Liulay Nishmat R' Shmerel of Verchovka, R' Akiva Ben R' Simcha Bunim Sofer(Author of the Da'at Sofer), R' Aharon Ben R' Schneur Zalman Kotler(Rosh Yeshivat Beit Mdirash Gevohah Lakewood), and R' Natan Meir Ben R' Moshe Yom Tov Wachfogel(Mashgiach Yeshivat Beit Midrash Gevohah Lakewood) Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN!

"..but Yaakov was a wholesome man, abiding in tents"(25:27)
Interestingly, the Torah makes no mention at all of the trials and tests regarding Yaakov Avinu, unlike the other Avot. Avraham was tested with ten trials and Yitzchak allowed himself to be bound on an altar; yet it is Yaakov whom Chazal called "the select one of the Avot"(Bereshit Rabbah 76:1) and whose features were engraved on the Kise HaKavod(Throne of Glory)(Bereshit Rabbah 82:2) (As the Gemara Chullin 91b relates, the angels who ascended and descended the ladder to heaven in Yaakov's dream saw the same face on the Kise HaKavod as they saw on the person sleeping below on earth.) Furthermore, many miracles were performed for him in the course of his life. What, then, is the superiority of Yaakov, the wholesome man who abided in tents, over the other Avot who were tested with so many trials and withstood them all?
We must say that devoting oneself constantly and exclusively to Torah and Mitzvot is greater than withstanding any trials. This is why we pray every morning for Hashem to "accustom us to Your Torah and attach us to Your commandments...and do not submit us to trial." The surest way to achieve greatness is to observe the Torah and Mitzvot without any trials, and this is what Hashem truly wants from His people. It was this greatness possessed by Yaakov Avinu, who abided in tents and devoted himself to Torah study, that merited him the titles and honor cited above.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Toldot, Derush Bet)
During the week, it is very hard for us to totally throw ourselves completely into Torah and Kedusha, due to our having to work to make a living. Out of the seven days of the week we have six packed with tests and Gashmiut, but as a Chessed to His children Hashem gave us one with no worries and much free time, Shabat. During this Shabat let us follow in the footsteps of the "Select Av" Yaakov, and devoted our time, to learn Hashem's Torah. The Chafetz Chayim says that every word that a person learns on Shabat, is times 1000!!! So let us fill our spiritual bank accounts this Shabat, and in that Zechut Hashem will fill our physical bank accounts during the week. AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom To All The Future Children!

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message is Liulay Binyamin Ben Yaakov Avinu(according to many), R' Refael HaKohen of Hamburg Ben R' Yekutiel Ziskind, R' Refael David Auerbach(Rosh Yeshivat Shaar Shamayim), R' Gedalya Moshe Goldman (The Zvhiler Rebbe) and R' Hillel Moshe Ben R' Tzvi Hirsch Mashel(Talmid of the Kotzker and the Chidushei HaRim). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the Eichler family to have Osher Shefa Bracha VHatzlacha Rabbah in Eretz Yisrael Bechinam Bekarov AMEN!

"and Hashem had blessed Avraham with everything"(24:1)
Rashi Hakadosh points out that the word Bakol "with everything" has the same numerical value as the world Ben "son", to imply that because Avraham Avinu had a son, he had to find a wife for him. Why does the Torah Hakedosha mention here that Avraham had a son, a fact that we already know, and why only by allusion and not explicitly?
However, even though Hashem had blessed Avraham with every good thing the world had to offer (see Gemara Baba Batra 17a). Avraham realized that without descendants to go in Hashem's ways, all of his accomplishments and righteousness would be worthless. Therefore, when Avraham realized that Hashem had blessed him Bakol, with everything, including his son, Yitzchak, he knew that only if Yitzchak fathered progeny would any of his Brachot have lasting value. But if Yitzchak had no descendants to perpetuate the Torah, Chas VShalom, then all of his accomplishments and all of his lavish Brachot would be of no value.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Chayei Sarah, Derush Daled)
Shabat is a time when the enitre family gets together and one of the greatest pleasures is seeing our children and if lucky our grandchildren following our ways. Unfortunately there are some people who were not yet blessed with children and do not get to enjoy this pleasure of seeing their descendants following in their ways. Kol Yisrael Areivim Ze L'Ze, it is our job to storm the Heavens and beg Hashem to bless these people with beautiful children who will follow in their parents ways of Torah, Mitzvot and Chessed. In the Zechut of davening for Klal Yisrael all the lavish Brachot we receive should all come true, and we should all enjoy an amazing Shabat with our families, and all of Klal Yisrael with Mashiach Tzidkainu AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to have amazing Shalom Bayit AMEN!

   "in the plains of Mamre"(18:1)
Rashi Hakadosh explains that because Mamre gave Avraham Avinu advice concerning Brit Milah (circumcision) Hashem honored him by causing His Presence to appear to Avraham on Mamre's property. Many Meforshim(commentators) have asked why Avraham chose to confer with Mamre about this. Was Hashem's command not sufficient for him?
HaGaon R' Moshe Feinstein zt"l says that we can say that Avraham's question to Mamre was not, Chas VShalom, whether or not to obey Hashem's directive, but rather whether to perform that Milah in public or private. Avraham thought it might be better to do it privately, since were it to become generally known that he had performed such a seemingly dangerous and irrational act on himself, it would undermine the message he had been preaching for years, that all Hashem's ways are rational and agreeable, unlike the barbaric and pagan practices that prevailed at the time. Fearful that those whom he had brought to the recognition of Hashem could not rationally fathom the depths of His demands. Avraham felt that a private fulfillment of the Mitzvah was more in order. Not unreasonably, Avraham was worried that he might lose a large portion of those with whom he had worked so diligently to bring under the wings of the Divine Presence.
Nonetheless, Mamre advised him not to conceal his Brit Milah, on the ground that it was wrong to be too clever with Hashem's Mitzvot. Once Hashem gives a Mitzvah, we should just do it. and not think too deeply into its rationale and consequences, even when we are aware of perfectly valid reasons for it. Simply doing a Mitzvah for the sake of fulfilling Hashem's will has a greater impact on the world than any number of reasons and explanations.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayeira, Derush Bet)
The Neshama is a part of Hashem, and Hashem breathed into all of us a part of Him. Even the most wayward Jew has a Neshama deep down who is dying to be connected to its source. "HaZman Katzar VeHaMelacha Merube" "The time is limited, and the job is huge!" We are nearing the end of time, and Hashem wants all His children to be there to celebrate. In the olden days, it was possible to sit and explain all the details and intricacies of every Mitzvah. But we have run out of time, we have to work fast. Let us be shining examples of what it means to be a Jew and with this we will effect that Neshamot that are hidden under all that filth. Let us invite some of Hashem's lost children to our homes, so that they can watch us perform the Mtizvot and get inspired. In the Zechut of bringing back all of Hashem's children we should be zoche to accept Mashiach Tzidkainu K'Ish Echad B'Lev Echad! AMEN Shabat Shalom!

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message is Liulay Nishmat Gad Ben Yaakov Avinu, R' Avraham Oppenheim(Author of the Aishel Avraham on the Shulchan Aruch), and R' Dov Berish Weidenfeld(The Tchebiner Rav). Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Alienu AMEN!    "Avram said to the king of Sedom; I lift up my hand to Hashem, G-d, the Most High, Maker of Heaven and earth."(14:22)
We must understand why Avraham chose this particular praise of Hashem in speaking to the king of Sedom, calling Him the "Maker of Heaven and earth" When Malkitzedek referred to Hashem by this title, it was to tell Avraham that he bore no grudge against him for slaying the four kings, since they had destroyed much of the world Hashem created. However, for what reason should Avraham, in speaking to the king of Sedom, refer to Hashem in this fashion?
Let us understand the message Avraham Avinu wanted to convey to the king of Sedom. He was not claiming that he had no desire to be wealthy, as people sometimes state when rejecting gifts on the ground that wealth is harmful. To the contrary, Avraham recognized the proper use of wealth [The Mussar Rabbis explain that wealth is desirable for those who will use it to support Torah and do Mitzvot] but did no want to receive his wealth from the king of Sedom, who would boast that he enriched him, but rather from Hashem, Who had promised to do so.
From this we see the great faith and trust in Hashem that underlay Avraham's every action and formed the basis of his mission in life, publicizing Hashem's goodness to the world. By telling the king of Sedom that it was Hashem Who created Heaven and earth, rather than merely rejecting his gift, Avraham conveyed the clear message that proclaiming his faith in Hashem was far more important to him than addressing the insignificance of wealth.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Lech Lecha, Derush Daled)
During these hard times, especially in the realm of Parnasa, all of us are looking for ways to acquire more wealth. And many of us are looking to financial wizards, and all different ways to make and keep our money. We must realize that our wealth will not come nor stay because of a financial wizard, a stock broker or even a Mekubal. There is one way for us to succeed and that is to know "Ein Od Milvado", He is the ONLY one that has control on the market and can decide whether you make money or not. Let us strengthen ourselves and take Hashem's advice and not the advice of a human being. Let's work on giving Maaser, and Tzedaka, and being grateful for every thing that Hashem gives us. In this Zechut we should be zoche to be showered upon with Brachot from Hashem Ad Bli Dai. AMEN Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom The "minor" Things

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message is Liulay Nishmat R' Yitzchak Ben Rabeinu Chayim of Volozhin, R' Yosef Zundel Ben R' Binaymin Beinush of Salant (Talmid of Rabeinu Chayim of Volozhin, Rabeinu Akiva Eiger and Rebbe of R' Yisrael Salanter), R' Mordechai Miller, R' Yisrael Ben R' Shalom Shachna and R' Eliezer Ben R' Naftali Tzvi of Ropshitz. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for all parents to be zoche to amazing ziata dishmaya when dealing with their children AMEN!

"Ele Toldot Noach" "These are the offspring of Noach"(6:9)
Rashi Hakadosh comments that the main offspring of the righteous are their good deeds. While many ways of understanding this comparison have been given by the Mefarshim(commentators), we would like to suggest a few of our own. Perhaps the Torah means to teach us that one should perform good deeds with the same love a father has for his children, a love which causes him to desire to help them not just because he is compelled to do so. Alternatively, just a father loves his children even when they do not live up to his expectations, so a person should love the good deeds he has done, and not regret that he did not do deeds of greater significance.
Furthermore, one should examine every good deed he performs for imperfections that need improvement, just a father scrutinizes his children to uncover failings that require correction. This applies not only to deeds of great importance, but also to ordinary actions, for one must be as scrupulous with a "minor" Mitzvah as with a "major" one. Still another similarity is that just as a father toils to ensure that his children lack nothing they need to become better and wiser, so should one toil over one's good deeds to improve them and to perform them in the best possible fashion.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Noach, Derush Alef)
The same way we work to provide our children with the "major" things such as food, clothing, and shelter, we must also provide them the "minor" things such as attention, love and caring. Rabbi Ephraim Shapiro tells a story of a father who was reading the newspaper, when his son walked in and said "Hi dad do you have a minute?" to which the response was, "Leave me alone I am reading the paper!" The boy, hurt, went up to his room. Several minutes later he came back down and asked his father, "How much do you make an hour?" The father annoyed replied: "A hundred dollars!" The boy went up to his room and started to count his money, after about five minutes he returned and asked his father, "Dad can I borrow five dollars?" To which the father replied angrily "I told you I am reading the paper now leave me alone!!!" The boy ran back to his room to cry. The father realized that he was a bit harsh, and went upstairs to see what was going on with his son. When he walked into the boy's room he saw the boy sitting on his bed crying with money lying on his bed. The father asked the boy what he was doing. The boy responded, "I was counting my money and I have forty-five dollars, I wanted to borrow five dollars so I can buy a half an hour of your time." Let us not make the same mistake. We must know that the things that we view as "minor" are just as important if not at times more important than the things we view as "major". We should be zoche to have much ziata dishmaya to raise our children to be talmidai chachamim and baatei torah AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom First Fruits

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is Liulay Nishmat R' Asher Ben R' Aharon HaGadol(The Stoliner Rebbe) His Neshama should have an Aliyah Zechuto Yagen Aleinu AMEN! And a Zechut for the entire Rosenberg family to have Osher Bracha Hatzlacha Simcha VYeshua Bechinam Bekarov B'Shefa B'Revach AMEN!

"Bereshit Bara Elokim" - "In the beginning of G-d's creating" (1:1)
Midrash Rabbah (1:4) interprets this clause to mean that Hashem created the heavens and the earth for the sake of Bikkurim, the first fruits, which are called Reishit.
The Midrash seems to convey the following concept: The Yetzer Hara has a powerful argument against observing the Mitzvah of Bikkurim. Why should someone take his first fruits, which are extremely precious to him after all the efforts he has put into producing them, and given them to the Kohen, to whom they are no different from any other fruits? In spite of this claim, however, Jews have always performed this Mitzvah, as described in the Mishnah (Bikkurim 3:1)
Why, then, did Hashem command the Jews to give away their precious first fruits to the Kohanim, who did not appreciate them? Perhaps He did so because this Mitzvah demonstrates Klal Yisrael's love for all Mitzvot. Someone who performs Mitzvot not out of love but simply by rote can usually be induced to delay their performance, since the Yetzer Hara can always suggest other ways for us to spend our time and money. If we heed its persuasions, in the end we will have no money for Tzedakah and no time for Mitzvot. This explains why so many people devote so much of their energies to accumulating far more money than they will ever need. If the Mitzvah of Tzedakah is dear to someone, however, he will make it his highest priority and, when money comes into his hands, he will be sure to give Tzedakah before thinking of his own mundane needs.
Setting aside the precious first fruits of our labors for the Kohen shows that we want to place Hashem's needs before our own. For that Mitzvah alone, it would have been worth creating the world.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Bereshit, Derush Bet)
During the week we are all busy and do not have much time for ourselves. Shabat comes and we all have hours to relax and enjoy ourselves. These hours are precious, and we must use them wisely. Let us give our precious first fruits(hours) to Hashem, lets spend this time with our families strengthening Shalom Bayit, learning with our children and going to Shiurim. In the Zechut of setting aside our precious hours for Hashem, Hashem will set aside amazing gifts for us, and shower us with Brachot Ad Bli Dai! AMEN Shabat Shalom!

"May Reuben live and not die, and may his population be included in the count(33:6)
Rashi Hakadosh comments, "May Reuben live in this world and not die in Olam Haba" Even though one follows the way of Torah during his lifetime, unless he succeeds in inspiring his children and those around him to follow his example, then in the next world only his own accomplishments during his lifetimes stand to his credit, since the dead are free from Mitzvot(Tehillim 88:6)
If, however, one has not only learned Torah himself, but also imbued in his children and students a love of Hashem's ways, then their actions (and those of their descendants) continue to accrue to his merit even in the next world and in effect he never dies.
Thus the Pasuk concludes, and may his population be in the count. Since he trained his children in the way of Torah, they will be worthy of being counted and esteemed as people.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vezot HaBrachah, Derush Gimmel)
We live in a time where there are many singles, and many of whom are living alone. Succot has the power to either be truly Zman Simchatainu a really happy time or a very depressing one. If spent among friends and family in a lively Succah it can be a source of inspiration for the future. But on the other hand imagine a single person, he/she has two options either build a one person Succah or eat at home without a Succah, which we know are both depressing. But if we invite these singles to our homes and let them join us and our families in the Simchat HaChag, they will remember Succot as a happy time, and will look forward to building a Succah for their family and inviting future single guests. The merit of inviting someone to our Succah is endless and many years after we will still be reaping the benefits! We should all jump at the opportunity of taking someone out of pain and giving them a reason to smile and enjoy Chag! In this Zechut we should be zoche to truly exemplify Kol Yisrael Areivim Ze L'Ze which has the power to bring Mashich Tzidkainu Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN! Shabat Shalom VChag Sameach

Shabat Shalom Holy Tongues!

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message is Liulay Nishmat R' Avraham(The Malach) Ben R' Dov Ber(The Maggid of Mezritch). His Neshama should have an Aliyah. Zechuto Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for the entire Rosenberg family to have Bracha Ad Bli Dai! AMEN

A person's spiritual improvement depends mainly on his guarding his tongue. All service of Hashem depends on our mouths, for Torrah, which is the essence of all of the worlds, depends on our mouths. As the Pasuk says, "For [words of Torah] are life to those who find them"(Mishlei 4:22) about which Chazal comment in Eruvin 54a: "Do not read [the pasuk[ as "who find them" but rather as "who speak them with their mouths" (Motziam rather than Motzeihem) [The Pasuk thus means that Torah is life to those who recite it out loud] For the very breath with which a person utters sounds is spiritual and it has the power to rise on high and split the Heavens and then rise higher and higher until it reaches the upper worlds, where it acts and does whatever it is fit that it do. Now for a voice to have the power to have effects in the upper spheres, it must be perfect, pure and holy, for it can have holy effects in the holy spheres only as long as it is of the same mold: just as they are holy, so must the voice be holy, for like meeting like strengthens both. But if the voice is defective, Chas VShalom, not only is it lacking the power to repair things, but it does damage. About this the Torah has said, "You shall be holy for I am holy"(Vayikrah 19:2) that is, if you desire and want to cleave to My holiness and have it apply to you, you must be holy, for with this My holiness will attach itself to you.
As David HaMelech said, "Who is the man who wants life? Who loves days of seeing good? Guard your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking falsehood"(Tehillim 34:13) David HaMelech warns us and asks, "Who wants life?" that is, who wants to draw over himself the celestial life of Kedusha in order to be illuminated thereby? Such a one is called "one who loves days of seeing good," that is, he loves the days of his life that Hashem gave him in this world, in order that celestial Kedusha should fall on him. And he desires that Kedusha in order to serve Hashem completely and perfectly, for this is the main reason for a person's being brought into this world. David HaMelech continues, saying that one who desires this must guard himself against the following matter in order to attain his desire: he must "guard [his] tongue from evil" One must understand that repairing the spheres and building them depends on the words which a person utters during Torah study, prayer and Brachot over Mitzvot. In other words, it all depends on one's breath of speech, which is spiritual and which rises until it reaches the upper worlds and they are restored through him, as we have said. However, the breath of speech cannot have these effects until it is holy and pure without any admixture of impurities, which is why one needs special care that the foul and impure Yetzer Hara not befoul one's speech. That is why the Pasuk says, "Guard your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking falsehood" for the main thing is guarding one's breath so that it should not be mixed with impurities.(Sefer Shaarei Teshuvah, 14, Rabeinu Yaakov Abuchatzeira)
This Shabat let us follow the advice of the wisest of all men, as he tells us in Mishlei "Shomer Pif Uleshono Shomer Mitzarot Nafsho" -"One who guards his speech will protect from the troubles of his Soul" Baruch Hashem we all have much free time on Shabat, lets not waste that time speaking about what the Rabbi did wrong, or what you heard someone in shul did. Lets turn a 180 this Shabat and invite that older single person that we usually just talk about behind their back. Let us show Hashem that we are an Aguda Echat, one entity and not many parts who do not get along. In this Zechut we should all be Zoche to have Shalom amongst Klal Yisrael and bring Mashiach Tzidkainu Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN! Shabat Shalom!

Shabat Shalom Tzaddikim!

To All Jews:

This Week's Shabat Message is Liulay Nishmat Naftali Ben Yaakov Avinu and R' Baruch Shalom HaLevi Ashlag Ben R' Yehuda Leib(The Ba'al HaSulam Al HaZohar Hakadosh).    "Vayeilech Moshe--And Moshe went"(30:1)
This phrase appears in Rashi Hakadosh as a heading without a comment, and unusual arrangement which requires explanation. We suggest, therefore, that Rashi Hakadosh held that these words are self-explanatory. In other words, the entire people sensed that Moshe Rabeinu was leaving them, even though he remained the exact same person as ever, standing before Hashem to serve Him just as he always had.
From the people's point of view, however, it was obvious that he was leaving because they realized there would be no one of his caliber to replace him. Even though Yehoshua followed, he was not Moshe Rabeinu, as Chazal said (Baba Batra 75a): "Moshe's face shone like the sun, while Yehoshua's shone like the moon." The phrase Moshe went thus tells us that although Moshe did leave the people, he remained the same Moshe as always.
By contrast, the people did not feel as acute a loss when Yehoshua passed away because he was survived by Pinchas and the Zekainim. Still, they were punished for their insensitivity for their failure to eulogize him properly. As long as Yehoshua lived, it was as if Moshe himself was still alive and they should have felt more grief at his loss.
Similarly, we should feel the loss of any great Torah scholar or leader intensely even without any special exhortation, since in our times there is no one of the same caliber who will take his place, even if the departed was not the greatest leader of his generation. A generation is passing away and those who follow are not replacing them; the sun is setting and we are not worthy of a new sun to rise in its place. Men who truly fear Hashem and genuinely thirst to know His Torah grow fewer and fewer, and this situation must cause us deep concern and must arouse those of us who are left to do whatever is in our power to try and rectify this.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Vayeilech, Derush Bet)
Unfortunately over the past few years we have lost many great Tzaddikim, and only realized how great they were after they had already passed. Even though there aren't many left we still have great Tzaddikim in our times, and we must do what we can to connect to them and drink as much Torah and wisdom that we can from them. To those living in Shaarei Chessed in Israel Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach was just a community Rabbi, and to those in New York Rav Moshe Feinstein was just one of the Roshei Yeshivot. Only after they passed did people start to realize how great they really were. Shabat is an opportune time to go listen to shiurim from the great Tzaddikim we have in this generation before its too late and we say "Oh I so should have gone to listen to him speak..." In the Zechut of respecting our Tzaddikim and learning from them we should all be zoche to have an amazing inspirational Shabat Shuva AMEN! Gmar Chativa VChatima Tova! Shabat Shalom UShana Tova!

Shabat Shalom Choose Life!

To All Jews:

This week's Shabat Message is Liulay Nishmat R' Natan Adler (Rebbe of the Chatam Sofer) and R' Shalom Ben R' Elazar Rokeach(The first Belzer Rebbe) Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Tagen Aleinu AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to be written in the book of good life AMEN!

See -- I have placed before you today the life and the good, and the death and the evil...and you shall choose life.(30:15,19)
HaGaon Rav Moshe Feinsten ztl asks why did Moshe Rabeinu stress that he was placing these choices before the people today? Perhaps this word's message is that each and every day of our lives, the same choices Moshe described stand before us to be confronted anew. Certainly, someone whose behavior has been improper until now is obligated to choose the path of good for the future. But even someone who has already chosen that path and remained firmly on it may not rely on his past performance to guarantee that he will continue to do good, and must make his choice afresh today and every day, because every day the path of evil and death also stands before him. Every day, therefore he must once again consciously choose the good...(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat Nitzavim, Derush Alef)
Rosh HaShanah is here! And again we are faced with the choice of life or death. The fact that we lived last year does not guarantee that we will be that lucky this year. We must consciously choose life, by doing Teshuvah, Chessed and davening to Hashem and begging Him to grant us life out of His infinite mercy. Helping other fellow Jews is considered choosing life. Hashem is looking to see how we act with His other children and He will act the same way to us in return. By helping someone pay for a seat in Shul for Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur we can be Zoche to Hashem giving us a seat in Gan Eden, by inviting someone to our house for the meals we can be zoche to have Hashem invite us the Seudat HaLevayatan. And there are many similar things that we can think of on our own personal level that we can do for people that will greatly help them and help us be zoche to be written in the book of amazing life, parnasa, zivugim, children, health, wealth, Torah, and all the many good things that we need. AMEN! Shabat Shalom Shana Tova UMetucka Gmar Chatima Tova!
