Chag Sameach We Are Alive!!!

To All Jews:

This Yom Tov Message is L'Zecher Nishmat David Hamelech Ben Yishai, R' Chayim Ben R' Betzalel, R' Yisrael Ben R' Eliezer(Baal Shem Tov), R' Avraham Shalom Halberstam Ben R' Yechezkel Shraga, R' Avraham Mordechai Alter(The Imrei Emet), R' Yehudah Rosner(The Imrei Yehudah), and Rebbetzin Devorah Margulies. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Refua Shelaima for Yasmin Bat Homa Rachel, Chaim Shmuel Shmelke Ben Rachel Itel and Binyamin Eliezer Ben Chana Gittel. AMEN! And a Zechut for every Jew to find his Chelek in Hashem's Holy Torah! AMEN!

At the beginning of every Chag, Jews recite the Bracha of Shechiyanu thanking Hashem Who kept us alive, sustained us and brought us to this season. It is important to meditate on the meaning of the Bracha, and not just let it slip off the tongue out of habit. A person's heart should be bursting with gratitude to Hashem for keeping him alive to see the arrival of another Chag.
This expression of Hakarat HaTov is not limited to an ailing octogenarian who has somehow been able to keep his body and soul unified together. It even applies to one in the prime of life, in full vigor and excellent health. He too must feel the enormity of the gift of life he has been given by Hashem to live to see the coming of the Chag. How many young healthy people who said this Bracha on the eve of the last Yom Tov are not alive anymore this Yom Tov, their lives tragically snuffed out by accident, catastrophic illness or a terrorist's bomb. When a person is fortunate enough to have the Zechut to say this Bracha, he should carefully contemplate the meaning of its words and offer his profound feelings of Hakarat HaTov to Hashem.(Sefer Chinuch HaBanim B'Zmanainu)
Tonight is doubly amazing! Not only have we been given the Zechut to reach another Yom Tov, but Hashem is giving us His Torah! We must turn to Hashem and say WOW! I cant believe how lucky I am, You let me live this year, and gave me the Zechut to accept the Holy Torah!!! Tonight let us show Hashem how thankful we are, and learn His Holy Torah, with fire, excitement and vigor! If you see someone who seems to not realize the gift he was given, go over to him and educate him! Wake up! Realize the awesome gift you were given, Hashem let you live to accept the Holy Torah! May all merit to extract amazing secrets out of Hashem's awesome Torah tonight! AMEN! Shabat Shalom VChag Kasher V'Sameach!!!

Chag Sameach Toil In Hashem's Torah!

To All Jews:

This Yom Tov's Message is Liulay Nishmat R' Moshe Yaakov HaKohen Ribikov(The Shoemaker of Tel Aviv). His Neshama should have an Aliyah. Zechuto Yagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for Eliyahu Tzvi Ben Rachel, Eliyahu Yehuda Ben Feiga Rachel, Perel Devora Bat Yochevet, Dinah Bat Sheina Beila, Raquel Bat Sarah, Leah Kafira Bat Sarah, Daniel Yoel Ben Chana, Avraham Ben Tzipa Chaya, Esther Miriam Bat Mazal, Ma'ayan Shira Bat Sara, and Rosa Bat Chasiba to find their zivugim bekarov AMEN!

"They shall teach Your law to Yaakov and Your Torah to Israel."(33:10)
Why does this Pasuk associate the law with the name Yaakov and the Torah with the name Israel? We may say that the law, meaning the rules that govern everyday conduct, is important for everyone to know, even ordinary people who are caught up with the day-to-day pressures of work and home life. Whenever a question arises which they cannot answer, they can go to a Rav (the contemporary equivalent of the Levite about whom this Pasuk was written) to be instructed as to how the Torah wants them to act. Thus the name Yaakov is used to describe those whose circumstances do not allow them to engage in all-encompassing Torah study and who must therefore concentrate on the practical aspects of Torah that apply to their lives.
The second part of this Pasuk, however, promises that there will always be those who desire to master the entire Torah with all its intricacies and profundities.(Darash Moshe Al HaTorah, Parashat VeZot HaBracha, Derush Daled)
During the week we are all busy with making a living, and supporting our families. But Hashem in his amazing Chesed blessed us with Shabat and Yom Tov. Let us spend this Chag truly acquiring Torah, and not just the laws that we need for day-to-day living. Lets toil in Hashem's Torah and in this zechut we will be zoche to learn the amazing secrets of Hashem's Holy Torah. AMEN! Chag Sameach!

Chag Sameach To A Patient People!

To All Jews:

This Year's Succot Message is Liulay Nishmat Yaakov Avinu Ben Yitzchak Avinu, R' Meir Arik of Tarnow. (Author of Imrei Yosher and Tal Torah), and R' Mordechai Ben R' Yissachar Bertche Leifer of Nadvorna. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah Zechutam Tagen Aleinu. AMEN And a Zechut to bring Mashiach Tzidkainu Bmhaira Vyamainu AMEN!

It is well known that when the Holy Chafetz Chayim's first wife passed away, he married a second time. During the first Succot married to his second wife, he erected the Sukkah, as always, next to his house in a place where people did not pass. After the Sukkah was erected, his wife, the Rebbetzin, came out and said to her husband: This place is not at all suitable. In my opinion the Sukkah should stand over there, pointing to another place all together.
The Chafetz Chayim did not say a word. He took the Sukkah and placed it where his wife desired, even though the place of his choice was where he had been erecting the Sukkah for many years.
When the Sukkah stood in its new place, his wife the Rebbetzin, came out again, looked at it carefully, and said to her husband: I have changed my mind, I can see that you were right in putting the Sukkah where you did.
Once again the Chafetz Chayim remained utterly silent, and removed the Sukkah to its original place where it had stood all of these years.(Told by Rabbi Grodzensky to the Rosh Yeshivah of Radin)
Chagim can be a very hectic time, and many get extremely frustrated and upset over the smallest, meaningless things. We must learn from a Gadol on how to act, we must act with patience and remember what the wisest of all men said, "Shomer Pif ULeshono, Shomer Mitzarot Nafsho" Let us give our family, friends and guests the benefit of the doubt that they did not mean to upset us or offend us and really enjoy this holiday which is called, Zman Simchatainu. In this Zechut we will all be zoche to a Chag filled with Simcha, Shalom and much Bracha AMEN! Chag Kasher VSameach!

Yom Kippur Sameach Choose Life!

To All Jews:

This Year's Yom Kippur Message is Liulay Nishmat R' Avraham Yehoshua Heschel Ben R' Yosef Meir Twersky (Machnovker Rebbe of Bnei Brak) Rabeinu Akiva Ben Yosef HY"D, R' Achai Gaon, R' Yehuda Leib HaLevi Ashlag of Yerushalayim, R' Moshe Yitzchak Ben R' Naftali Elimelech Gewirtzman of Antwerp, R' Naftali Chayim Ben R' Meir of Dzhikov and R' Avraham Binyamin Silberberf (The Pitsburger Rav). Their Neshamout should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Tagen Aleinu. AMEN! And a Zechut for all of Klal Yisrael to have an amazing inspiring Yom Kippur! AMEN

One must reject any notion that Hashem gives people reasons to sin, Chas VShalom, for this is a false rationalization. Hashem Yitbarach is a "G-d of trust with no tyranny, righteous and straight is He"(Devarim 32:4) As it says in the Gemara, Adam was asked, "Who caused you to sin?" to which he answered "I caused myself to do so." Then they asked him, "Didnt Hakadosh Baruch Hu make you do it?" To this Adam answered, "Chas VShalom! He is a G-d of trust with no tyranny, righteous and straight is He."
The reason for this is that man has free will, and Hashem has given him the intelligence to discern between good and evil. Thus, though everything else is in the hands of Heaven, the exception is fear of Heaven. David HaMelech accepted this truth and said, "Do not allow yourselves to think that just because Batsheva was made for me at Creation and was as a captive in marriage to Uriah, therefore Hashem caused me to sin, Chas VShalom! in order for her to be restored to me. The question regarding Hashem is that He could have taken Uriah's life or put it into his head to divorce her, and the same result could have been obtained without violating a Torah prohibition. Rather, the matter was simply in my hands, and there is no room to suspect Hashem Yitbarach at all. Therefore I confess freely before Hashem and say openly that I did evil in Your eyes, Hashem, I brought it on myself, and You did not force me"
In this vein, he said as part of his confession, "I was conceived with inquity and my mother swaddled me with sin."(Tehillim 51:7) He meant as follows: Even though I was created only through iniquity and sin, and thus am prone to fail, still, it is a false rationalization on my part to say that since my very beginnings in mother's womb were in the foulness of iniquity and sin, and since from the moment that I came out into the world "sin waits at the door"(Bereshit 4:7) I cannot be expected to prevent myself from sinning. That argument might hold, were the Yetzer Hara left in me by itself with no one to fight it, but once a person reaches 13 years of age he is called a man, his faculties are developed enough to discern between good and evil, and he is given a Yetzer Tov and a Holy Neshama. Moreover, Hashem Yitbarach aids his Neshama and his Yetzer Tov.
Thus, when Job claimed that he could absolve the whole world from judgment, for sin dominates man like a lion and Hashem himself stated, "The inclination of man is evil from his youth"(Bereshit 8:21) his friends replied, "You are negating the power of fear of Heaven and ignoring the effect of Tefilla before Hashem"(Iyov 15:4) For Hakadosh Baruch Hu has said, "Barati Yetzer Hara, VBarati Lo Torah Tavleen--I created the Evil Inclination and I have created the Torah as an antidote" Therefore, man has no escape or refuge from fighting his Yetzer Hara, for the Yetzer Tov stands opposed to the evil one, and besides, man has a Neshama and the aid of Hakadosh Baruch Hu. Moreover, Hashem has given him intelligence and warned him, "choose life!"(Devarim 30:19) so man has no excuse to rely on.
What David HaMelech said in his confession before Hashem was, "Even though I was conceived in iniquity and my mother swaddled me in sin, I know in my heart that this excuse cannot save me, nor anyone. For the whole truth is that You have created in us a healthy intuition to guide us and an understanding heart, and we are capable of discerning between good and evil. Besides, You have warned us that there is a way of death and one of life and that we should "choose life" so what is lieft for us to do?"(Sefer Shaarei Aruchah, 28, Rabeinu Yaakov Abuchatzeira) Tizku L'Shanim Rabot Im Osher Shefa Bracha Vhatzlacha Rabbah Bechinam Bekarov BeRevach AMEN!

Shana Tova Hashem Choose What Is Best For Us!

To All Jews:

This Yom Tov Dvar Torah is Liulay Nishmat Sarah Imainu, R' Ammon of Mainz, R' Meir Yehudah Leibush, and R' Yaakov David Wolivsky. Their Neshamot should have an Aliyah. Zechutam Tagen Aleinu. AMEN And a Zechut for all of Hashem's children to come back to Him! AMEN!

It is told of one of the righteous that after reciting his prayers he would add the following: "My G-d I am emboldened to stand before You not by ignorance of my own paltry stature and inadequate knowledge of Your greatness and transcendence; for You are high and exalted and I am of too little account, too lowly and small. to petition You, to praise and sing hymns to You, or sanctify Your name, which is sanctified by the voices of the high and holy angels. Rather, what has emboldened me to it is that You have uplifted me, by commanding me to pray to You, and have permitted me to praise Your exalted Name, according to my understanding of You and my grasp of Your glory; also, that I may express my service to You and my humility before You.
"You know what is best for me and the ways in which I should be guided. I have informed You of my needs, not so as to call Your attention to them but that I may be conscious of my great need of You and of my trust in You. If I should ask You, in my ignorance, for something that is not good for me or of no benefit to me, Your exalted choice is better than my choice. And so I leave all my interests to Your lasting determination and supernal governance, as David HaMelech Alav HaShalom, said: 'G-d my heart is not haughty, my eyes are not raised high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and mysterious for me. Surely I have stilled and quieted my Soul, like a weaned child with it's mother, my soul is with me like a weaned child'(Tehillim 131:1-2)"(Sefer Chovot HaLevavot, Shaar Cheshbon HaNefesh, Perek Gimmel)
